[533] Japan’s economy contracts in fourth quarter
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
Japan’s economy shrunk by 1.4% in Q4 of 2015. Ameera David weighs in. Then, Ameera sits down with Ed Schultz – host of “The News with Ed Schultz” – to talk about the Obama administration approving the first US factory in Cuba in more than 50 years. Then, Bianca Facchinei takes a look at how pollution is affecting global business. After the break, Ameera is joined by Lenore Hawkins – founding partner of Meritas Advisors and blogger at Elle’s Economy – to talk about oil. And in The Big Deal, Ameera and RT correspondent Manuel Rapalo talk about steel workers in Europe protesting what they call unfairly traded steel imports from China. Take a look! Inside every Cuban, there is an American waiting to get out.

Its contracting last 30 so years.

Hands off Cuba, imperialist scum!

Ed Schultz needs to go back to his CIA handler and get more training. He was a bit overeager in his attempts to demonize the Cuban government.
Maybe Ed really doesn't realize that Cubans have limited internet access because of lack of infrastructure (due to the embargo) and not because the Cuban government wants to limit freedom of information. The CIA likes for its assets to be stupid and really believe the ridiculous lies they tell so that they can tell them more convincingly.
Ed also clearly links "freedom" with mass marketing. He says the Cuban people are oppressed because they aren't constantly bombarded with corporate advertising. Sounds like paradise to me! -
Bianca is a beauty queen.

The world needs libertarianism.

again mispronouncing words. Geez, isn't this your job?

NEE-KAY, damn it! Cuba will need foreign sales or investment of some kind, but it doesn't need to look like Club Med. How 'bout B&B's? Or is the Cuban govt worried about that much foreign contact? Pollution issues will right themselves when these places can afford to tackle them (or we do get that worldwide depression), hence we should buy their products. Including oil. Leonore is 99% right. But all this isn't being caused by oversupply, and it's doubtful reduction will help anymore than plowing crops under in the Depression. The Saudi problem is the same as China's. The way back has to be to allow interest rates to rise to encourage savings and investment, to buy where it's cheapest, and eliminate defensiveness.
