[647] Clinton, Trump economic policy, housing bubble worries in Canada
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
The top story: Chinese insurer Taikang Life is the latest player to join the ranks of Chinese companies making big investments abroad, this time in the global art market. Over the past few weeks, McDonald’s, Yum Brands and Starbucks have all described a new wave of restraint among customers eating out. Ameera David has details. Afterwards, Boom Bust’s Bianca Facchinei reports on the lack of growth in startup businesses in the US, a part of the economy that has traditionally fueled job growth. Then, RT Correspondent Trinity Chavez details how both Boeing and Airbus have begun decreasing production of jumbo jets in favor of smaller aircraft. After the break, Ameera talks to Kiplinger editor Doug Harbrecht about the economic policies of the major party nominees for US President Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. And in the Big Deal, Ameera and Edward Harrison review the worries Canada’s leading housing agency is having about house prices in Vancouver and Toronto. Take a look! 7:47-10:50 That's some emotional conviction. I almost shed a tear for Boeing, but I'm guessing something else was on her mind.
PC Police would say it's "problematic" to comment on her emotional, angelic face, but anyone with functioning eyes and empathy will tune in more to her emoting than the words on her script. We're not robots, and RT knows how we're biologically wired. It's nice to see some humanity sneaking though in the news. Makes it interesting. -
Where is her accent from? The way she says jObs and other words. She over pronounces and it sounds kinda twangy.
-
may i have Bianca facchinei's sources and data she used in reference to her segment?
-
I want to see the talent manager of the RT!!! good taste!!
-
babe!
-
the reporters look upset today, like somebody at RT is beating them. girl reporting on the 747 looks like she's being tortured and about to break out in tears.
-
It is not all about the wall... His main goal is Jobs...
Get your story straight.
Getting other countries to pay their share is unheard of?
That's why he needs to be elected. -
Canaries laying eggs? Talk about mixed metaphors. We've been talking about boosting entrepreneurship for several decades, Bianca, despite very low interest rates for much of that period. And if students didn't have debt, then someone else would, which would likely have the same effect. Smaller jets is also an old story, resurrected only because of the 747 news. Airbus was told to forget the A380 in the beginning. Clinton's economic plan is a smorgasbord of plums for her constituencies. In fact, Trump is talking about protectionism like the typical Democrat since FDR. Tariffs had been a Whig/Republican policy before that. But let's get one thing straight: globalization is the antithesis of free trade. Clinton's tax increases are largely regulatory penalties, and increases on the wealthy, which will not cover her spending. Obama has suggested NATO members should pay more - 2% of their GDP. Both Clinton and Sanders said in debate this spring NATO members should pay more. Have no idea where anyone got a diff idea. Admittedly the CFR crowd is upset about it.

I don't think it's accurate to say the Chinese economy is getting weaker. It's not growing as fast, but still growing.
-
I cannot recall whom it was but market analyst predicted the canadian housing bubble would come years after the American bubble...
