Until he emerged momentarily from a 20-something year old haze one day, peered through his windshield at a future going nowhere and said to himself, I am going to Coronado and I am going to be a Navy SEAL. Chad's father listened to his son's new goal politely and decided it was time for fatherly concern to overtake fatherly love; Chad needed a swift kick in the butt. Enter USN SEAL, Scott Helvenston. Scott met with Chad and placed a government issued boot against his backside every morning, running the hills of North San Diego. Chad hung in there. He was determined to earn the most coveted pin in the US military, the SEAL Trident. But just as Chad's ambition began looking like reality, tragedy struck, in the form of his mentor's corpse dangling from a bridge in Iraq. From that moment forward, Chad wanted trigger time.
