They met with heads and representatives from the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Development Bank and the World Trade Organisation as part of the 'ASEAN Global Dialogue' forum. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen who chaired the event said slow economic growth and weak financial systems in some developed countries had caused the global market to face instability. He also spoke of his hope that the ASEAN summit would attract multilateral support in raising the regional group's political and economic profile. Cambodia has tried to shift the focus of the summit talks to economic concerns but territorial disputes have overshadowed the discussions so far.
