Issue Accomplishments of creative economy in the past year and its outlook The biggest story in the whole economy this year was 'creative economy.' The core strategy of the creative economy is to create new markets and industries by incorporating the nation's imagination and creativity into science technology and ICT technology. The government has announced to foster business start-ups and venture companies by allocating about 40 trillion won of its budget in the next five years. It has been engaging in various related projects such as opening a 'creative economy town' that supports people's ideas to lead to actual creation of business start-ups, 'creative economy exhibition' that put together actual outcome of the business start-ups as well as 'infinite imagination rooms.' It has been a year since the Park Geun-hye administration has put forward creative economy as the government's core national agenda. We will look back on what policies the government has taken and what accomplishments have been made in industries as a result of these policies in the past year.
