Thanks. I learned something cool

Hello David, On the 335d the access is a small cover on the left rear of the vehicle. The fill spots are more difficult to use this method and a special tool is used to add fluid. If I get an opportunity I will try to make something that will work with this vehicle for home filling. Not sure when I will get the opportunity but I added it to my request list :)

Excellent video. Please do one for the 335d!

The 335d has a cover on the driver side near the rear of the vehicle that provides access to the diesel exhaust fluid. The angle is more difficult to use this set up but it may work the same. If I get a chance to make a video I will :) You would have to remove the black caps and use the modified container to fill the exhaust fluid. Make sure the area is clean to prevent contamination as it can clogg the system.

This was helpful but I need a tutorial like this for the 335 d.

Yes that helps a lot. Thank-you.

For the US market it would be all X5's which would be started in 08 production I believe. This would be the E70 BMW designation. Hope this helps :)
-
what model year did the Diesel x5 start having DEF? Thanks.

Gotta love the lies from the EPA and the govt about what it takes for a diesel to be clean. Math alone shows diesels are better in every way. Its funny to me that the state with the worst air in the country seems to make all the laws.

@crampittts820 That should be fine to use and should be the same. When diesel fluid first came out it was a requirement to do a flush of the system but it is no longer required by the manufacturer so just topping up should be fine :)

@AskTheCarExperts ok is it true that the fluid needs to be flushed when you get on oil change or can i just add more fluid when it is needed? also is the "DEFblue" fluid not as good as the BMW stuff, i don't want to be hurting my x5 by being cheep lol
-
@crampittts820 Hello, The fluid and part numbers listed are BMW parts. This was purchased from the dealer. The bottle that was modified is the emergency fill bottle for topping up fluid. The larger container is for when a service is performed.
-
@xMuneeb Hello, the diesel fluid is for emissions and I do not think it would applicable to your x5. This would be for the E70 model X5 US. :)

where did you get the fluid from and what brand is it.
