@ld1711 Let's suppose China's GDP were FOUR TIMES as big as the US, it would then still have a net per capita income less than that of the US as it has 4 1/2 times as many people.
-
Respond to this video... China has 4 1/2 times as many people than the US so if it doesn't eventually have the largest GDP it should be VERY EMBARRASSED.
-
@ld1711 We've heard this before with Japan and Germany. A million things could go wrong in China before they ever become #1 in GDP size, and even if they do, Europe, US and Japan have net per capita income far higher. China should be embarrassed with a GDP smaller than US and it has 4 1/2 times as many people.

@cabraden1 Reminder: Toyota's braking problem recall millions of cars. Sony is beaten up by Korean's Samsung and LG. American R&D departments employ almost 50% Chinese. Recent data for 15 years old students [Time magazine 1/31/11 page 36], Chinese score 600 in math and 556 in reading vs U.S 487 in math, 500 in reading; and Japan 530 in math, 520 in reading. With U.S. growth rate of 3% vs China's growth of rate of 10%. In ~ 9 years, China will be #1 in world economy.
