The media is the largest brainwash tools for the uneducated people. This one is fine.
China is repeating the USA corporations corruption, development is benefiting the rich more than the poor. Only the different is that China will be much worse because of the large population, unequal distribution of income and education. This is not Communist, it is Capitalist under the state control. American corporation loves China: Starbucks a tall coffee cost 28 Yuan = $4.30 and the worker get paid much lower than the US workers.I do not know about the tax and any fee to be paid to Chinese Government. With 1.4 b of population 5 times larger than the USA, the corporations like it here. The bottom line is Money and GREED. After starving for decades the new Chinese grab anything for the future and status, Macdonald, KFC and Starbucks are the high status for China and Asia. No wonder Hollywood culture, fashion, and western entertainment trash easily welcomed. More prostitutes today than Mao time. What a joke. Expensive education, food and etc. What kind of Communist is that? Where is Confucius? -
As China rises so is the rich get`s richer and the poor gets get poorer issues will just like any other developed countries. Good for China and the world . The New York Time report mirror a sound so familiar situation in the US. millions on food stamps, unemployed and homeless people stuck at the bottom.. Has the US doing anything to help them ? The answer is NO. otherwise we won't see so many homeless people in every cities in the US. New York Time should focus on the homeless, the long unemployed and let the US government do more for them but they don't give a shit and sent the reporter to China report about China rises ? So idiotic of the New York Time.

10 years old, - 2006 Production. These people losing their homes for "progress" is so sad. It has been going on for a long time all over China. They are not compensated for the real value of their homes, having to move, cost of living, etc. I'm sure, that this exact situation happened all over the United States and Europe before. The problem is for China, that it wouldn't happen now.

Jews are now plotting how to curb and cut down the Chinese to size, they are growing big and fast. Jews must lead the world being the selected race as described by the bible and the Koran .They have succeeded to get the American and other allied nations to tow the line under their Zionist and capitalism tight rope. They have succeed to tore down the Arab nations and Islam to shreds but they will not succeed to bring down China because of the overseas Chinese factor and communism which are still thriving in mainland China. The on going economic attack has no effect on China as most of their assets through out the world are secured and managed by their loyal counterpart in respective countries and they are well capable of hitting back if needed by their worldwide war council.Jews need to be mindful because the Chinese are much bigger and harder nut to crack and the work to erode the mind and the discipline of their younger generations will not work as they are simply too smart and thrifty and well spread out.The Chinese can make the Jews as the Jews make the Arabs count their days and keep them counting while the American and their allies may need to eat humble pies and beg the Chinese for a little more.

I would like to see a more recent documentary. Has it changed much since? They talk about the split between the rich and poor. Has it gotten better? Because here in the West, the middle class is eroding...

"China has ambitions to be more than the world's sweatshop. It wants to produce its own designs, its own unique products" This quote alone sums up the new generation of china and it's development of a different culture. Love the video. Very informative.

The duality of Shanghai is astounding yet eerily familiar to the western world. It's interesting to see the westernization of China expand to the point where the dynamic of injustice is even similar.

Great video. I feel for the people and especially for the lost fertile farmland. I wonder if they know just how precious it is.
Thanks for posting. -
To truly learn more about China, one would most likely have to visit Shanghai. There might be embellishments and there might be bits of truths to this depiction of Chinese culture.
