Chossudovsky: China could already be world's largest economy
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
It's widely predicted that China's economy will be the largest in the world by 2020, overtaking the U.S. Only this week the country surpassed Japan to become the world's second biggest economy by GDP. And earlier this year it officially overtook Germany to become the biggest exporter. However, Michel Chossudovsky from the centre for research of globalisation in Canada says China's economy could ALREADY be the biggest in the world, as GDP is not representative of the actual strength of an economy.

Finally.. Someone who doesn;t have a bias for one or the other.. I do hope that all countries continue the path of global stability.. Peace for everyone

Well look at what happened to Germany during WW2 it became one of the strongest world power and it was heading to be the strongest and a threat to Allies so they gang up on Germany and Defeated Germany then took over Germany for years. Now allies target is China... The war is going to be about domination like WW2 not about "defending people fairytale". USA wants to keep been #1 and they want to take over china economy and resources to devour it and grow. I hope I am wrong but before 2020 ww3...

I do not agree, the chinesse financial markets are not strong enough to compete with the US economy. The US economy might be weak these days but it'll get strenghthen like it always has, so the speculators should be concious about it.

@assoonas1 Dear Youtuber, I must commend you on your perspective and professionalism. US certainly have their econoic and political woes, but they still lead in many industries which China can learn from. As a Chinese citizen who also have an American citizenship (by marriage) I can say throughly enjoyed the hospitality that both countries have shown and provided me. Idiots love to compare, but rarely know history and circumstance. This world's small so lets hope we can achieve good for all.

@forgottenmemories63 Not to offend, but I hope you are not one of the goofballs on here still watching 1960s Mao propaganda fims and think that is WHO we are today. We have the biggest economy, yearly revenue at +$256B avg, biggest dam, biggest military, and so forth. So Communist still sucks? BTW, we had a 150 years late start after all them European nations and Japan fucked us when we were weak. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and right now, you are only seeing the preparation part.
-
@forgottenmemories63 Are you still thinking of the Communist regime that were led by the Russian leads and were forced to adhere to their visions? Or are you talking about hte Communist Party leaders since Deng Xiao Ping who risked their lifes against the military followers of Mao after his death to make changes to national policy, leadership, and economic reform? You can never imagine a free China because it will never happen. We were ruled with an Iron fist with open trade values for 5000yrs
-
@kensei85 And the US allies are right there with them in the bottom 150-185. Too much liberty in the US has made them decadent. There is no respect to elders and communities, and the US are involved in costly projects and wars which equates to no real value domestically and abroad. $8 trillion between 2 presidents with $5 going for wars. In the old days, you would have gotten land and spoils, what did the US get? You know, we execute CEOS for embarrasing China in selling bad baby formula, US?
-
@kensei85 As you mentioned, that problem existed for Brits, not China. In the old Mao days, you would get executed just for mentioning selling off national interests to private organizations. Today is no different, but without the killing. Do some research and see that all 4 major banks in China are still owned by the state. It is an illusion of capitalism when it is actually relaxed Communism (if it exists). US liberty has dragged them down to last place globally in revenue. Continued
-
@kensei85 Not to argue as I am trying to debate your point. One has never been a democratic country. It has been under totalitarian rule for over 5000 years and that will not change. If you or others can prove we have been at any point in history, I am eager to hear. Going forward, we will not be Democratic either. Opeining up in trade and business means nothing from a political perspective. Our past dynasties have always done it. As for bribes and sucking up to cash, really? Continued

Remember China has 1.3 billion people to feed. It's still poor on average even if it's GDP is twice than the U.S

I can max out my credit card and look rich too...everyone can.....but it is stupid

When the crunch comes I guarentee China will do what Margaret Thatcher did in the UK, sell off the nationalized infrastructure to for-profit corporations for quick money. They're already halfway Capitalists, it's not like their leadership's Communist "morals" would get in the way of cash. It's a shame the only way China will ever see liberty is by overthrowing the 300+ million Communists. Well... "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
-
@forgottenmemories63 The Communist regime isn't perfect, but so far it is the best for China.
-
Chinese are nice People, Their Communist Regime sucks. I can't Imagine a Free China with Millions heading to YouTube and Interacting with everyone like every other Country...
