Dr. Yergin...I enjoyed this series, however, during the Nixon era, there is absolutely no mention of the greatest and most impacting turn of events in global economics, the "temporary suspension of gold from the dollar", plunging the global economy into historically catastrophic "fiat currency" and fully debt based economy. When this form of global monetary system fails due to the immense credit bubble explodes, and not just pops, the entire world will suffer a grand (not just 'great') depression and another global war. What on earth are the cloud dwellers of Stratos thinking?
