Also interesting would be the complete obsession of money and how that has evolved in our country in the last 40 years. I know that science used to be covered on the news in 20% of the coverage then, today is only one percent. Our focus in this country is #1 money, to a sick point of mass hysteria. The next time you watch or listen to the news count how many times money related words are spoken(better have a clicker). The rest of the stories are completely without substance. We need intervention

I believe that an average person could run, just be clever. Use the internet.
-
The partys should monitor each other too, in Canada for example the Liberal party in last election found a loop hole when the Conservatives found out they gave the facts to the media to post it on the news and they changed the rules to ban that loop hole.
-
Take away corporate and union funding to political campaigns, reduce personal donations to 3000 a person. It will equal out the rich and the poor when they campaign. Other nations do this, also get the FBI to monitor all campaigns and make sure they follow all rules.

I don't have the time.

The congressmen can hold shares in military corporations and can take advantage of insider trading, John Kerry has $30million dollars in defence company shares 150 other congress men hold $190million of shares in military companies naturally they vote for war & invasion it's money in the bank for them & their families.
-
1.4 million, so If asked every friend I have they would need to give me like 5k so I can run... yeah this is why the middle class can't be politicians.
-
Honestly America how much more corruption are you willing to take?
-
If wealth factors in pensions then I think the data would be much more interesting if a comparison in the change of median wealth of congressman was looked out with and without government payments like pensions and figures like increases in profit from market shares were more scrutinized.
-
Also does it factor in CDs and things like 401k plans or pensions.
-
Does net worth include the possibility that you can sell property or is it exclusively based on market shares, bank savings, and income.
-
Open secrets.org article states that 9 out of 10 congressional elections have been one by the biggest spender the study also shows that elected officials are 3 times more responsive to bill passing for their richer constituents

@antonio3p1 You also have one of the highest standards of living in the world and the happiest children.
-
@antonio3p1 And on top of that I dislike your brainwashed use of the Word Socialist like its a horrible word. I am a Socialist. I know what it is. America needs to stop throwing it around like "Terrorist", "9/11", "National Security" and the rest of its trigger words.
-
@antonio3p1 I was talking about Obama dude, Chill out silly Paulite. I've done enough research to go from being an advocate of his to realizing, He's fucking crazy, and what I do agree with him on is no longer enough. But atleast he's not an evil fucking troll.
-
its 12.3 repeating more than my household, but thats because my stepmother has a job thats I dont know, Actually important. She's a nurse. And the only reason we arent for all intents and purposes financially boned is A.) She Balances the Budget (Take a clue congress) and B.) Her parents own 60 acres and are giving us ten of it. We're currently living in the Trailer they had when their house was being built. So Fortunately Im part of the disappearing Middle Class.
-
@antonio3p1 You got it wrong. He's a troll. "Im going to fix shit, Hope and Change!" - Campaigning "Fix shit, Fuck that, Give the wrong people money trolololololol" - Reality.

Plutonomy: Economic growth that is powered and consumed by the wealthiest upper class of society. Plutonomy refers to a society where the majority of the wealth is controlled by a minority; as such, the economic growth of that society becomes dependent on the fortunes of that same wealthy minority. Plutocracy: rule by the wealthy, or power provided by wealth. The combination of both plutocracy and oligarchy is called plutocracy. OCCUPY!
