Cornel should not be talking about Lenin in that way absolute revisionism. An otherwise great discussion however

Greece is an example? Spain? North Korea? People are starving for food over there, but free everything sounds so good,
free food, free education, free health care, free housing, for the first two years it will be awesome because we will confiscate all money from the wealthy people to pay for it, then what?
Problem in the US is not the capitalism, problem in the US is that it evolved into Imperialism, Hillary Clinton understands it, vote for her and everything will be Ok. -
So I buy with my wages a house. I need to fix it up. I hire workers; painters, plumbers etc. Now the workers should have a vote on what my house should be and on aspects that are not in their expertise they were hired to do? Freedom, Equality, and usually not even considered Property Rights. When to people want to do contrary things, then one will be less free; both can not have their own way. Equality, are we really all equal, identical social widgets. Where is the diversity. If do not control my property, who does; and I'm not free to use my property as I see fit. Someone else needs to be my nanny and tell me what to with my stuff. Socialism is distribution of labor and wealth by politicians verses owners. You have a voice as a consumer, and buy stock and be an owner. If your one little stock vote is not load enough do you think it will be loader if one worker in the big labor of tens of thousands of workers.

1. Capitalism varies from one country to the other. Different countries
practice, manage and regulate capitalism differently. So there is no one type of
capitalism.
2. Even though capitalism can be mismanaged. In 2016 I don't know of any
countries where people are yelling for Marxism to make a comeback.
Marxism has been tried already in enough countries so it won't be making a comeback. -
give executive power to the work class by allowing their voice to play part in the future of enterprise they work for?... hmm prob the same reason why Marx lived off of his marriage, worked very little and needed the money of a wealthy capitalist friend to publish all of his work. Communism needed of capitalism to be published to the world since the social practice of Marx didn't make any money at all. It sounds very good a utopia on earth but unless every member of this so called communist system happen to be on the same page morally and intellectually it cannot work, it is part of human nature it is impossible for a community to be equal in all aspects later on the entire world. Equal right we may fight for equal status specially at an intellectual level that its a fools dream

I am curious as as to where the fines levied on Corporations for gross negligence of standards in conducting business and damaging the world environment goes. It must be into the pockets of local & state governments who see this windfall & extravagantly spend it on giving away contracts to private contractors to do the clean up at 500% times the cost. If instead of just fines the these highly paid Executives are sent to prison there would be a better corporate culture in America & the world today.

Capitalism is a vile ideology that is destroying the planet

It's a shame that brother Cornel so mistakenly insists that "male supremacy" is a signal issue. WHAT supremacy is he talking about for the 99% of men who have at most a crumb of political power in the form of a largely meaningless vote? Men who have no reproductive rights whatever, who are far more likely than women to be arrested and imprisoned for identical crimes, who are far more likely to be homeless, to kill themselves, who are simply targets on college campuses having had their due process rights suspended in cases where sexual assault or rape are alleged, who are far more likely to die on the job, who live five years shorter yet receive worse medical care...
What male supremacy does he believe he's talking about?
What can he possibly be thinking?? -
2 fu**ing idiots!
-
Both of these guys together. What a combo! WOW! Excellent discussion with points made. West's eloquence is captivating. Love the man's style!

I like to see all sides because of your education but I can't swallow your perversion of reality which can only be a manifest of your disbelief of liberty which is not perfect but carrys a lot of imperfections

'I loved Wolff's last comment on quoting Marx that capitalism will bring us all down. Now it is patently obvious it is unsustainable. If the majority don't have the money to buy the shit they are selling then the system collapses. America thinks socialiasm is a four letter word, either they are indoctrinated or oblivious to their socialist history. John Steinbeck ,a Nobel prize winner Joe Hill a union activist ,to Martin Luther King and many more who stood up for the rights of the downtrodden . Old movies like "On the Waterfront" So , many Americans are socialists but they don't realize it.Socialism does not equate to totalitarianism,it is not communism. Thank you Laura .I shall be following your channel.

Thank you, Laura Flanders. You are a beacon of critical thinking

Describing the Leninist tradition as, "trying to transform Duke Ellington's Band into a military band".
I need a compilation of his quotations from his natural, impromptu speeches and lectures. -
France: fraternite, liberte & egalite. Brotherhood (Comrad), freedom & equality (all equal)America: life , liberty & pursuit of happiness. (No brotherhood & people can get ahead by hard work).

An unbalanced system with only a few wealthy at the top of the pyramid and massive poverty at the bottom, is not a healthy society. "Gravediggers" is a term attributed to Marx but it was actually first coined by the Puritans. The term "Calling" the Puritans used for finding their gifts and talents and using them in the marketplace. They became successful, but the generations that followed were also successful but the term gravediggers was used to describe this generation of Puritans because they benefited from Capitalism but forgot about God and "Calling." So, the term "Gravediggers" was used to describe them because they lost touch with the original intentions of the previous generations. Os Guinness expresses this well in his book, The Call. He believes that this is a concept that can help keep Unbridled Capitalism under control and give some Spiritual dimension to "Secular Work" or "Employment." No doubt some Socialists like Upton Sinclair made working conditions known for the workers in the meat factories in Chicago and this helped to bring about legislation and changes to protect workers. This is similar to how Dickens brought attention to the horrors of child labor and the poor. Guinness also believes that a good society is one where every thing is not for sale. The most important things in life are not for sale. But our society has been so consumed by consumerism, that we've lost touch with the things that are important: Relationships, Art etc.. He uses the term Co-modification to describe a society where everything is for sale. Let us not forget William Wilberforce who led a small coalition to stop the slave trade in England. This took forty years but is ceased in England.

The SAT and ACT tests are difficult tests for high school students in public schools. If they can pass and do well on these tests, it is a testament that something may be good in our public schools.

"Marx was neither a philosopher or economist but was co-opted by those with the most guns and tanks (Ronald H. Nash). The Communist Manifesto was on the list of Benjamin Wiker's list of books: Ten Books That Screwed up the World and Five That Didn't Help. For English teachers at Universities in America who are touting Marxism in the U.S. (Elizabeth Kantor, her book, the Politically Incorrect Guide to English and American Literature), engaging in a utopian system that spawned a totalitarian system that has failed show and inability to recognize evil in its full scope. defies any sensibility. Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin, among others, were revolutionaries who condoned violence in the interest of overthrowing the government. Stalin was a mass murderer of his own people, killing millions in the Stalin Purges. This Utopian vision for our world or any country will eventually fail. It is an anti God vision that condones violence.
I was at a New Years Eve party some time ago, and a very pretty young lady engaged me in a conversation of how Marx really supported Capitalism and was a proponent of it. Where is she getting this? -
Holy shit, Capitalism has generated more wealth, raised the standard of living for more people, than any communist system ever put into practice. Communist systems are in place to insure people cannot have upward mobility. A place for everyone and everyone in their place. There's 0 upward mobility in the communist system, accept for it's leaders, who live like kings. Stalin owned stocks in western industry. In North Korea, communism revolves around the social standing of one's family. IT'S LIKE A MONARCHY ALL OVER AGAIN. People who advocate communism, never want to talk about it in practice, always in theory.
