7:28 "Technology empowers humans to do great things!" Interesting how Nadella uses the word humans rather than people (as if there's some other species who knows that this is of a benefit to humankind). And to tell you the truth, the statement should have been that 'Technology empowers corporations to know and do more!' And later Schmidt uses the premise of how beneficial technology has become to third world countries as though such technological progress justifies the increasing sophistication of 1st world technological progress. I.e. The acceleration of pervasive technologies. In fact all of them make comments about poorer regions benefiting from technological progress as though it justifies and underpins everything they are doing. What you really have to wonder about is, what's their end game? 'Coz, there's no doubting that they do indeed have one!

All of them mentioned importance of education and existing domination of educated masses over not educated. I agree with you his point.
So folks, modern world dictates us to get our books ready and study as hard as devils in hell! Because our environment is changing way too fast, and chances to be left behind are getting higher and higher! -
Facebook women in RED is EVIL feminist.
She speaks only about women/man inequality.
Hey, once was enough we have ears to hear you, and we have hearts to understand, not necessary to speak about women rights every time you have voice. -
The Internet Is Going To End ?
-
A great talk. The most important concept here: as connectivity grows, so do voices. Anyone, literally anyone, in any corner of the globe can speak out over the Internet. That's power for humanity and society.

Sheryl Sandburg... Wasn't she the one who had the book, with the totally phony airbrushed version of her face on it? Oh, and it gets better. She's a protege of Lawrence Summers, that piece of trash.
-
These idiots! their world is collapsing, and they don't even know it (or they know it, and are just going through the motions).
-
I agree people should be optimistic to make things happen.

Michelle CEO how much does she pay herself, fired 100 employees, then turns around and rewarded herself a bonus for market efficiency (firing 100 employees), that could of been used to employ the same employees fired....for another year!? Is that her style like a majority of CEOs?

The problem is not technology, the problem is economy addressed by selfish unempathetic men. As long as humans beings are regarded as clients, and freedom as synonym of market freedom, we will be fucked up by those with access to technology which are willing to use it in their own favor. There should be a change of paradigms of governments. Come on, democracy does not exist since politicians learned to manipulate masses and keep them stupid. Since then is economy who chooses the governments. We need another type of leaders, which are not moved by markets, but by real will of improve the conditions of people. But it is so difficult, not because only leaders (many of them) are selfish bastards, but because each of us want some more than the others, is a problem of the whole society. People should learn that we are not individuals, but part of a group, the society, and if the society is good, the individuals are also good. But leaders seem to not feel as part of the society.

so it comes down to: there is a lot to be done we quite don´t know the best way to do it but we need to keep moving forward
-
So cool.
-
"We're a Wealthier Globe" That doesn't even make sense... did more Gold or Oil or Water get created? No, it's a zero sum.. what the fuck
-
I am an optimist too about impact of technology, but not about self-organization of honest and smart persons. Without better self-organization of good people versus bad people ( mafia) we can not live love and freedom.

Thank you for sharing the thoughts of these IT luminaries with the world! Eric Schmidt’s idea of “better wealth for everyone” envisions a bright future for humanity. It is fantastic that they are spending their time discussing ways to improve the world. Thank you!
