My fellow proud Germans, I'm pleased to announce that Germany has once again become a global economic power, thanks to the efforts of my hand-picked, highly-effective cabinet! Now kindly distract yourselves while we brainwash each and every one of you into a loyal voter for the Winners Coalition. religious groups like the jehowa witnesses do not want organ donation, they are also against blood donation, they say that it is against gods will. (at least I think that this is the reason)
-
there is a difference between a scientific theory and a normal theory a scientific theory is basicly fact a normal theory is basicly a hypothesis
-
obligatory comment: you science denier religious nut

Our german particle accellerator stands near Darmstadt in Hessen. It's called the GSI - Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung. (Society for the research of heavy ions.) And it's linked to the University of Technology in Darmstadt.

The problem with teaching alternative theories is they don't have equal weight in validity or credibility. This is why we don't teach flat earth theory in geography or even bring it up really. There are two or more sides to anything, education would get very bogged up if we had to examine every dearly held belief on any given subject. However I do see your point in that most scientific knowledge is taught to us as, trust us this is true, if you want to know why you'll need to take harder classes, but its often an efficient way at teaching certain subjects and students can learn why if they want to. Telling students 2 or more theories and letting students work it out can be bad because students can often come to an incorrect conclusion, as often scientist themselves have throughout history. Modern evolutionary theory is the best model we have for biology in the present and past lifeforms. There is more conclusive evidence about evolution than there is on climate change. Key knowledge obtained from evolution research has lead to breakthroughs in genetics and medicine. To give an alternative theory that rejects all of this research without a shred a valid scientific evidence is an affront to science itself.

Teach evoloutionism in Science, explain that it is a theory but scientific theories have to have sufficent evidence. Teach that some people believe in creationism in RE.

I think that why the t
religious hate organ donation is because of body mutilation -
And it's not blind faith, on the contrary, it's the only explanation based on EVIDENCE and consistent predictions.

Evolution, and most of Biology, cannot be expressed in a concise mathematical equation, so it is referred to as a theory. A scientific law is not "better" or "more accurate" than a scientific theory. A law explains what will happen under certain circumstances, while a theory explains how it happens.
stop spreading nonsense -
it's just that if you know science, you won't believe as much nonsense as before...just the kind of thing religion bases upon on.
-
I think it's those offshoots of religious groups, the extremely devoted ones that shun medicine because if you can't survive your illness without tampering it's time to go. I think that's what's happening anyway.

You seem to have the wrong impression on evolution. It is a scientific theory, which in the scientific hierarchy holds more weight than a law. People really don't understand that the scientific use of the word theory means the most scientifically acceptable general principal. In everyday life it is used with synonymously hypothesis. All scientific ideas are open to investigation and even disposal if there is a replacement that better explains the subject mater. There really isn't another idea for the origin of life. We witness life progressing and diverging and have the evidence that supports the idea that it has been happening for eons. Much like the bigbang we have a fairly good idea of what happened right up to the very beginning, this is where you can throw around odd ball ideas such as seeding, spontaneous generation, or divine creation.
(I could be horribly wrong here)I don't think that the scientific community actually has multiple theories to explain a single phenomena. One would disprove the other/they would be combined into a unified theory. The shining example being electron theory in electronics. Simply put, the prevailing though at the time was that electrons flowed from the + to the - terminals. However it was found that the flow is reversed and "holes" flow from the + to - terminals. The theories can not live side by side and the one with the most scientific evidence is the new standard. Science does not benefit in my mind from teaching the lesser of two ideas. That is the relm of the humanities.
Also be careful saying you want the general public to do more critical thinking. To get the best outcomes of this the thinker must attempt to remove bias from their mind. Otherwise you have people looking for ways to defend their position/attack the other in a sort of bias reinforcement.
All that being said, "you do you boo." -
I'm from the Philippines. 90% Christian. We have no problem with organ donations. Everyone supports the red cross on default and it affect everyone positively.

It's the economy, stupid!

What holes do you think evolution has? You cited it doesn't explain the origin of species, but evolution doesn't have a say on this. Only the diversity in species and how simple organisms, over time, become more complex.
Furthermore, you don't differentiate between the scientific term 'theory' with the layman term 'theory', which basically are contronyms. Theory as a scientific term is the closest thing to a fact something could be, like 'the theory of gravity'. The way you use theory is more like the term hypothesis, which evolution is certainly not. If you look at the DNA evidence alone, it can prove a common ancestry with all species. -
God is a theory. It is human made and will always be bullshit.
-
I'll just go out and say that I disagree with your stance on evolution. The fact that organisms evolve is well understood and well proven. The link from single celled bacteria to multi-celled, multi-organism humans does have missing parts, that's usually because they are just not recoverable by paleontologists.
I understand that you want to teach evolution and that is good. If you want to stimulate critical thinking however, would you also teach such nonsense as creationism? There is no alternative to evolution to teach, it's just not a completely proven 'thing' (for lack of a better word). -
Don't forget about tobacco tax, it have very little affect on anything.

I think I understand the problem. If somebody were to react emotionally to the absolute barebones of what you said without actually listening to it, they would assume that you were blowing off evolution as "just" a theory. This is a common "argument" that hyper-religious people use to avoid the trouble of actually learning what evolution can teach us and refuting it on the merits. While it's clear to anyone who listened to your entire monologue(s) that this was not your point, I can understand the emotional response that elicits those reactions. I, myself, had to go back a few minutes and listen again to assure myself of what you really were saying.

Jehova's Witnesses would be against organ donation.
