Thank you for what you are doing. I want to learn and pass the knowledge along. I feel like it is the least I can so. I have watched where all this greed has taken us. I believe people should be valued most and we have lost our humanity but God the Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are waking millions of people out of their slavery to see the truth, that humankind was designed by God for community with one another and a deep need to help others, serve others, and that will manifest in groups of people finding a better way than the current broken system. just cause the bets on contracts are really high and if a bad bet is made it could send us to a world depression i doesn't mean its a FRAUD we can just make more law and more fail safe systems its just another way to make money

derivatives are bets you make on future contract values. they are completely speculative and dont even have to be based on securities, commodities or paper assets.
you can bet if the whether in iceland next week will 27 degrees. someone takes the opposite bet and then a transaction is made. it has no value or real world help.

Fannie and Freddie laid the foundation for these vehicles to be taken advantage of by companies like Goldman Sachs, etc.
I don't blame Wall Street for 08 collapse, I blame our government (big surprise) for pressuring banks to loosen their lending standards, and for also guaranteeing these mortgage loans.
Fannie & freddie (like most gov't agencies) create volatility in the market place, regardless of their intent, that someone, somewhere will take advantage of. In this case that someone was Wall Street bankers. Very smart individuals who have no problem taking your money. But buyer beware. No one put a gun to your head to invest in these housing derivatives.
