In a 1941 Message to Congress Franklin Delano Roosevelt tried to explain what it means to be free. He outlined the "four essential human freedoms": 1. Freedom of speech and expression... 2. Freedom of every person to worship... 3. Freedom from want... 4. Freedom from fear. "The Fight for the Four Freedoms," is also a book written by Harvey J. Kaye. He draws parallels between the current situation in America with that faced by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the Nation in 1941. On June 4, 2014 Harvey J. Kaye was the keynote speaker at the 5th Annual Thomas Paine "Common Sense" Dinner hosted by the Democratic Party of Door County, Wisconsin. This film provides that full speech.
