Pretty much every thing in the video is wrong! 1#. US was the first country to create a welfare state in the 50´s, Europe latter on copied. That created american middle class 2#. All the other countries that are more competitive than the US have bigger governments, if gov is the problem, how is that possible. 3#. Free market doesn´t make interests of employees and employers match, the proof is history, before gov intervene in the labor market wages were abusevely low and work hours subhuman.

Ohh Americans, when will you get over your extreme patriotism... every country is exceptional in its own way. For example America is exceptional in having most prisoners in the world, or being the most unequal country, or being the most uneducated people in the western world.

@zvi303 LOL. People aren't like "that" very descriptive. What exactly about her depiction of humans is inaccurate?
-
Roflmao @ 100% of the budget as unemployment benefits. Easily one of Allen Barton's best lines in this show yet.

I like Rituparna Basu! :)

Sorry to bother you with facts.

I hope they are better than her fiction. I found the non-economic parts of the Fountainhead absolutely horrifying, not to mention completely divorced from what epople are actually like.

We really don't need to get racial. Try a population where 41% of the kids are born to unmarried parents. Now it's true that in other countries there may be a high number, but in the US cultire this doesn't work. (Here in Israel the figure is 5%; I suspect palimony laws help.)

I am not a fan of hers, but the story there of the "banker with with a heart" is a great description of the current crisis. I should point out thought, that it had already happened, there was a "strike of capital" during the later part of the depression.

I think Switzerland has Fios internet to a lot of its residency... I'm just throwing that out there.
-
I hope you stop using the Internet. Away, foul troll! Away!
-
Exactly. A population where 40% of individuals aren't white.
-
we're just cooling our jets to let the other countries catch up a little bit....

how so

PJ TV is the only thing keeping me sane!

Still waiting for Obama to pass the Equalization of Opportunity Act. :)
-
Obama is doing a great job, he knows what he is doing; making America less competitive... and broke. I never voted for him, never will.

Allen Barton gave me a funny idea. I would like to see a word count between Babylonian documentation and all the governments current documentation.
-
You're confusing directions of force.

Heritage also ranks Switzerland highly: heritage. org/index/country/switzerland "Switzerland’s economic freedom score is 81.1, making its economy the 5th freest in the 2012 Index. [...] Switzerland is ranked 1st out of 43 countries in the Europe region, and its overall score is much higher than the world average."
