Speaking of inflation...
Russia, 1917, Wiemar Republic, and...ah yes, Zimbabwe, which didn't actually have a currency for a while.
Also Hungary, if I recall it right had 500% inflation, and...I seem to think Armenia? Can't remember off the top of my head... -
I love the obscure 7th Saga music.

"Most real, most accurate model economies out there"
The world of warcraft game economy is a game economy. It's not an accurate representation of real world economies. Sure there are some overlaps with things like inflation but a game economy is first and foremost a game economy.
Hyper inflation happens in games because the game is flooded with money through loot drops. Every monster drops a little something and over millions of players those drops add up. This isn't really a problem in real world because governments carefully control the printing of money.
Game economies have to be fun. The game creators can't restrict the flow of money because making a monster that dropped 10 gold coins before drop 1 gold coin instead is demoralising for the player so it's not something the creators want to do. In the real world economic solutions don't need to be fun.
I could go on for days about the differences between real world economies and game economies because the differences are huge. I just want to point out saying "Most real, most accurate model economies out there" is pretty ridiculous.
Going on to say that MMO players could seriously come up with economic solutions to real world problems isn't totally impossible but it is pretty ridiculous. You won't become a real world economics genius by studying game economies.
If you want a decent exploration into game economies that doesn't go for clickbait false equivalences check out extra credits. -

I already have full neatherweave bags

Why not EVE online with their more realistic economic system and an actual economics professor overseeing the whole madness to keep it fluent?
The game is practically an oversized excel sheet for econimic gain and warfare with with lasers instead of clippy the paperclip. -
Every time that Mat mutters "....of warcraft" I want to slap him.
But I still laugh. -
To be honest I wish we kept the gold standard, or based it on another, renewable valuable instead.
