It's funny how i go to school and am restricted to engage in an education which seems like an absolute rip off. Yet there are world class lectures online for free and free textbooks etc. And i spend a lot of time learning more online then i do at school. And often times it is my school work that stops me from actively learning things that interest me.

It's not just that China invited American/Western Capitalists to utilize their huge, literate, and already regimented population, the American financial system has to lend more money every year, year over year. Banks must make wealth generating loans to meet the necessity of both keeping enough money circulating for everyday commerce, as well as there being enough wealth being generated in the future for the credit they were extending, and the money they peddle to have any value. The industry of America moved to China and forgiegn countries because wealth generating industry was impossible to finance here in America. American industry could no longer grow in America because the markets of other countries could not pay for what American industry produced. America's business model to loot the resources everywhere on the planet that its military and economic might can, came back to bite its ass by disabling the potential for other markets to develop with which it could trade. That is a cost of racism. The Housing bubble, and credit cards for crack-heads policy was a way to keep people occupied, and basically enslave the population with debt, and armies of police as the resources and energy that fuel capitalism dry up. Back in the 90's, while on a visit to Denver I witnessed how every form of media was saturated by finance, and coupled with what was going on in my home city, it didn't make any sense. How could a credit card be approved for somebody that burned one, was issued another and burned that one, and after burning the first two credit card companies in sequence, still be issued a third I asked the ex wife of a former employee. She leaned towards me and told me in a confidential tone that everybody was doing it, and proceeded to pass on the details for the hottest topic of gossip going around. I knew there was a logical explanation then, just as I know that there is always a logical explanation to explain national and foreign policy now. What I learned over time, is that money metamorphosizes. The characteristics of money as a store of value change to the means of control. The enormous amounts of "money" or wealth being transferred from the bottom 99% to the top fraction of 1% doesn't exist. Empty promises don't have any real value, unless the people that have collected enormous piles of them agree to give them the value of control, since they aren't worth anything else. The politics that rule over the game, in deciding whose empty promises are worth more than somebody else's have to be governed by expedience. The game goes on or everybody loses, so where you sit at the table must be subject to there being a table. That is what is going on in the world today. Those at the top are fighting for control of who gives the orders and who caries them out as capitalism's relevance fades. Anyone that read Major General Smedley Butler's, War Is A Racket, should know what capitalism is, why America has military bases all over the earth, why all the murder, mayhem, civil wars and failed states in the Middle East, North Africa, Venezuela, and America are the result of capitalism. America as it was failed, and a new police state implemented, its audition the destruction of the Occupy Movement, and its formal introduction to the nation by way of the Boston Lockdown and the sweeping door to door searches, sweeping any vestiges of America' tattered Bill of Rights in to the dust bin of history. American capitalism is a criminal conspiracy. The invasion and occupation of the Philippines, the annexation from Columbia of what came to be called Panama happened in the late 1800's. Samuel Butler gives a brief description of his foriegn duties as a "gangster for capitalism" in the beginning of the 20th century, and somewhere along the way the incubating pathogen bloomed in to the malignancy that is now dying, and is probably going to take most of us along with it. Capitalism is a criminal conspiracy that has murdered countless millions already, and it's end has left us dependent on an economic paradigm with an infrastructure about as useless as a fishing boat without fish to catch, or worse, places like Phoenix and Las Vegas as useless as a boat in the middle of the Sahara. Localized co-ops is a great idea, and I hope it takes root, but I don't see it replacing the Control Game that is being played now in the condemned capitalist casino. I see the Control Game continuing, the players feeding on everything available, including each other until their aren't enough tangible resources to support the armies of people needed to support their claims of ownership and control. That’s what all the Home Land Security, NSA spy on everyone policy, and the militarization of the police is for. The absurdity of American policy makers erecting an internal security apparatus like none the world has ever seen, that so closely mirrors the people, government, and tactics depicted in George Orwell’s prophetic novel 1984 in order to protect Americans from foreign terrorists amidst a seemingly endless plague of rampant criminality within the political class and financial sector, is in reality divorcing oneself from it. The resources are simply not available to make a transition in to any paradigm that doesn't include massive population loss. If the resources were available to sustain the US population and those that lord over them without risking war with Russia and China over control of the worlds oil resources, (thereby gaining control of all the worlds available resources) capitalism would be going on the way it was before. The fracking bubble was necessary to keep the facade going that America isn't hopelessly insolvent. The increase in oil and gas production was necessary regardless if it meant throwing the capitalist rule book out the window, just as it had done previously in the finance sector and insurance "industry." American foreign policy requires that our European allies/vassals that make up NATO follow our lead, and the lies that their populations have had to bare and swallow for their governments to support the US, especially Germany whose economic interests are better served maintaining friendly relations with Russia, (and why the NSA spies on them more than any other country) would be rejected without the big increase in the oil and gas production numbers and the illusion of plenty. Americas naked aggression has to have something to cover it, or the game is over. When people use the term “conspiracy theory” in an off-hand derogatory way it shows that they are fools, or worse, complicit in the criminality like when GW Bush said it. The people that are in control of our lives and determining our future attained their position by conspiracy. They live and breath conspiracy, they always have. In fact, it was the centuries of intrigue that played out under the banner of treason in the courts of Europe, that it’s past use was deemed so pernicious that it is the only crime mentioned in the US Constitution requiring a specific burden of proof. Machiavelli put it to paper 500 years ago, but apparently it’s news in the 21 century.

Amazing to think that America puts people in debt BEFORE THEY EVEN HAVE JOBS.

Richard, you neglected to state that the Federal Reserve is a non government entity, that it is a privately owned corporation, that its very creation was clandestine, that the big bankers of the day coerced Woodrow Wilson to sign the federal reserve act, that the IRS was created at the same time as the fed... that the United States pays interest (to the fed)to create its own currency...

Lets Analyse the Rich CEO Class: The maybe 10 000 tall tough Jocks who were the Bullies in High school since 1970s now are the big CEOs and control 10 millions of workers, and buying all the political Votes....EF U , EF U, EF U CEOs..
Because the world is divided into professions and all the slots are taken IF YOU DIDN"T KNOW THAT! Basically we got the NEW ROMAN EMPIRE and the CEOs as the Roman Senators and soon TRUMP to be elected as the new CAESAR salad!
These CEOs believe they were send on Earth as Gift from GOD to help manage us the poor and stupid population. Bernie Sanders said: Democracy is not a spectator sport: Because we are Spectators: We only watch the Stupid Tube every day and never go out to to vote for the real people. We only take the choice that the CEOs offers us- the stupid package.!
But not any more- every 50 years Revolution happens, and now its the time since last peoples revolution 1968 - The big awakening against treating people like meat and sending them in war 12000 miles away in Vietnam. Now the people are used like meat just to do the service jobs for the Rich CEOs, while working only for 9$/hour and all jobs are part time. Not Any more- we will take the power and kick them out of office!
We don't need the 10000 CEOs , but we need the 300 million middle class people who are turned into poor class! So Go out and VOTE FOR PEOPLE LIKE BERNIE SANDERS AND ELIZABETH WARREN WHO FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE A JOB AND ENOUGH MONEY TO SURVIVE!...,.,, -
What an interesting economic lecture! Bravo!

Before you assume that i never read a book think deeply.. MY IDEA IS NEW RADICAL, AND IT CAN WORK. if you donate money to people , they will spend it right away on food, and housing (prof Richard Wolff). SO MY IDEA IS INSTEAD THROWING HELICOPTER MONEY (paul krugman) from top down , we will throw from bottom up. Why should 90% of population wait for TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS , SO WE GIVE IT TO THE PEOPLE(and control the inflation same time) AND LET THE BIG BANKS AND BIZ BE CREATIVE TO GET OUR MONEY-let them be creative. imagine this way if all people get monthly:we will have no stealing, no murders for money, no poor people , you can fix millions of societal problems this way. Its not my idea-IT IS THE BASIC INCOME IDEA-I JUST IMPROVED IT. ..also RBE economy is great radical idea, also instead of giving money we can donate coupons and vouchers for food housing..etc.. I have blended many great ideas into one..I have power to visualize and troubleshoot different economies in my mind..I am sci-fi writer and if you want in the future you can create perfect society. But only if you want to share and help others. Einstein said : The Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.. I believe capitalism needs to evolve into Socialism..But if you are right wing conservative you will dismiss my idea!,.,,.

HOW ABOUT THIS IDEA: 0% TAX FOR ALL - Radical idea, but very powerful! 0% Tax for all , and liberals would say: (ooh my god my who will pay my salary and pension of my gov't free job) Hmmmm, i mean WHO WILL PAY FOR ALL THE ROADS AND BRIDGES!..I will tell you: Gov't creates money - so they will print it every month, and PAY THEMSELVES..AND THE REPUBLICANS: (ooh my god , my money in the bank will be eaten by inflation) hmm, BUT WE WILL HAVE TO MUCH INFLATION! YES..this is the idea.! TO EQUALIZE THE SOCIETY WE WILL PRINT MONEY and pay all people basic income every month - this way the poor will be happy, the middle class can still get money and pay for their houses, AND WHO CARES FOR THE RICH!....Why is this good idea! 1. If you plan to open small business and run it - you will not have to pay any taxes- so many small businesses will be open. 2. If you are Worker you will get you BASIC income and + if you shoose to work you will get extra and don't worry to pay taxes! 3. If you are gov't employEE you will do your job AND YOU WILL NOT BE VAMPIRE WANTING TO SUCK MORE MONEY FROM ALL OF US! 4. tHIS SYSTEM IS GOOD FOR ALL PROFESSIONALS like doctors or scientists, and in long term will create aworld with no poor, no stealing, no murder(except for cheating on ur wife) , no public protests, hapy people. BECAUSE THE MONEY NOW IS MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD, BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE THE PEOPLE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD AND MONEY SHOULD BE ONLY USED FOR WHAT IS INTENDED PURPOSE IS: as an Exchange system , a voucher to buy and trade stuff, to get food and groceries and to make sure all of us are taken care for.,,,,

PROBLEM - he is defining Capitalism but what we have today. We are not capitalistic in the USA today. In Capitalism, failure is allowed and is welcomed. 2008 showed us this NOT to be the case. YES, any logical person can "see" the system we have is bad.....but the system we have is NOT capitalism. Just about everything is a monopoly. In capitalism, competition will generate lower prices, but most of the "local" competition is gone.
Problem - no matter what system you have, if there is NO MORAL code within the people, you will have problems (ie. love your neighbor as yourself)
"part" of MY PROPOSAL -
1. limit and DECREASE the Fed government by at least 75%. Whoever is left....get them out and replace them. (There, everyone just got a raise)
2. Get rid of the "Fed". The debt, that was created out of thin air is wiped out. (everyone just got another big raise).
3. take most of the responsibility away from the Fed Gubermint (BUT the military, maybe the power to coin money), and give it to the STATE level. - you know---united States of America
4. restructure our schools to include basics (growing food, basic electrical, plumbing; etc) so people CAN live without ANY system - increase self sufficiency (teach a man to fish......)
5. get BACK to sound and HONEST money.
A THOUGHT - BRING GOD BACK TO THIS COUNTRY!!!!! for if we loved our neighbors---"even slightly"--- as ourselves. There would be no hunger. We love powerball more then people today. How much is spent on these "games" every year where a person has a 1 in 30,000,000 chance of winning????? Not being self righteous as i am a smoker....just presenting a thought provoking FACT.
So, i did enjoy and agree with parts of this lecture; especially some of the problems presented. The solution is not "socialism". In my mind "socialism leads to communism" (we are almost there anyway). Communism kills (pick up a history book). The gubermint has too much say today. Become Socialist and give them more say and control??? no thank you.
I want the REPUBLIC this nation was founded on. I want REAL capitalism (not this.....idk.......fascism) that we have today. In REAL capitalism, the winners are NOT pre-chosen. In REAL capitalism, few monopolies will form as someone with LESS greed will compete with the other. In REAL capitalism, failure IS an option for EVERYONE. In REAL capitalism - one reaps what they sow....instead of "reaping what someone else sows" - which is what we have today...EVERYONE is reaping off the "working class"; this includes the 1%.

The magic words: China needs a market because their citizens don't make enough money to buy the products they produce. In other words, Western consumers still have some power to influence the outcome. Cut your spending and live within your means.

Dr. Wolff do you discuss bitcoin in any of your videos?

I must admit that, particularly with Richard Wolffs' unique stye, socialism is very alluring. I would agree that changing to a system that matches production to societies needs would eliminate a lot of ills in this country. My question for Professor Wolf or anyone else who can answer is, can socialism accommodate americans wants and desires along with their needs. If so, how?
