A coop bank and insurance company are also a good idea.

currency war, trade war, military war. A new system should be discussed. The old system of war , debt , bribes and lies is wearing thin on the "folks".

Brilliant. I live in the UK and always look forward to Prof Wolff's lectures. Excellent analysis. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible.

I wasn't a fan of this guy six months ago. But I've always understood his angle. Seems he's really sharpening in viewpoint and making more solid presentations.

Classic over reach of leftist overreaching and hype, cartoonish description of "the others". Quickly loosing respect for Wolff. He's starting to seem more like either Snowball or Napoleon.
Where did Smith say the Hand Invisible is Gods hand?
$6 says China makes a dump of the dollar (Indiana Jones style)...Ramps up military exercises to keep tots population on board.
Putin bromance will take a beating. -
appreciate the information

Australia is a socialist country and it's going to hell . We have no job growth for years . Everyone's taxed to hell

A lack of capitalism is why our satellites do not see lights on in N Korea, and there almost no toilet paper in Cuba. The old Soviet Union had TP, and consumers waiting in line for hours to get it.

Cockhead ! Go suck Obamas dick

Workers Coops is a wonderful idea in order to circumvent the present limitations of the system. But they will need financing. Being the financial institutions, specially banks, part of the status quo I don't think they are going to shoot their own feet promoting this Coops, which I repeat are an extraordinary good idea!

TRUMPSTER IS LIKE DOG WHO CAUGHT CAR ! BUT UNABLE TO DRIVE IT !!!

One important thing to add in the case of IKEA in Sweden. Those 68 weeks are mostly founded by the taxpayers, the corporations pay almost nothing. Rather, it's about solidarity between citizens than solidarity between corporations and it's employees.

The rest of the world can't afford goods made in America. It's why the jobs left in the first place.
-
I had to pause. Why the fuck do public university presidents have a higher salary than the US president???
-
thank for subtitles ;)

What he says is SIMPLE deductive reasoning. Agenda is irrelevant. Trump's tarrifs will trash this country. I predict he will remove them when the pain becomes very apparent. Just like BUSH!

Errors in thinking by the excellent Richard Wolff:
1) Tariffs will bring jobs back to the USA. Robotics will be employed boosting productivity in a massive way. Even if the Chinese dump product elsewhere, investment to China to upgrade will be over. China has a huge problem, not the USA.
2) Robotics does mean fewer jobs. But the "problem" of a robot run factory in the USA vs that factory being in China is the kind of problem countries drool over. The taxes from that factory then fund schools and roads and everything else.
3) Richard, Keynesian economics does work. The Trump plan will work. And yes, traditional Republicans will flip out. Let them pound sand.
4) There is nothing about the Trump/FDR solution that excludes the inclusion of worker co-ops which I support. The single impediment to worker co-ops is themselves. They require trust and self sacrifice at their outset. Jeremy Corbyn's great idea of putting government money into jump starting any particular Co-op transition (for industry threatening to leave Britain) is a potential part of the Trump plan -> So please write to Mr. Trump and recommend that!
I will also add that tariffs are great for fostering any fledgling start up industry as tariffs give breathing room for economies of scale to develop. I hope you reconsider your own position here on the use of Tariffs particular to the USA situation of having a semi-"monopoly" on consumers. The USA can and should leverage that clout and that is what will give Trump the success that you are not seeing.
