4. Interesting that one is fined $500 for texting while driving. A recent report was released about how the rate of accidents are increasing exponentially due to "inattentive driving". That was, of course, attributed to texting while driving. As a result we all have to pay higher rates of auto insurance premiums to cover the additional claims from accidents. The idea of creating revenue is of course a primary driver of the ticketing process. I was in Sherman Oaks, Cal., recently for 4 days. In that 4 day period I got 2 parking tickets that cost me $140! They were in a residential area where I did my very best to observe what the rules were but while they had signs I found them to be hard to spot and were in very small print. $70 for a parking ticket is a perfect example of revenue building and in my opinion an outrageous fine to pay for a parking violation.

7. People that texted and drive are more dangerous that drunk drivers. This is a serious problem that has caused countless deaths and destruction of families. I think one does a disservice under stating the horrible effects of this selfish and irresponsible act. Even driving while talking on the phone is a menace to everyone else on the road. PULL OVER...

11. what everyone seems to conveniently forget is that when automation was envisioned, it was to reduce the labor humans would do and Increase the leisure time. That could only be done if the "automation premium" was to be spread among the population and not captured at the top by greedy corporate industrialists and elite, who somehow believe they "own" the natural resources used in making the robots. We need a Guaranteed Annual Income for each human being based in part on the automation premium".
