According to the non-profit Universal Ecological Fund, the world will be faced with food shortages by 2020 if, as a UN-backed panel has predicted, global temperatures rise to a level 2.4 degrees Celsius above those in pre-industrial times. The group's analysis of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) data has concluded that population growth and warmer temperatures will have a dramatic impact on food production and prices, if current trends continue.

In 2012 a report released by the Stockholm International Water Institute stated that: “With 70% of all available water being in agriculture, growing more food to feed an additional 2 billion people by 2050 will place greater pressure on available water and land.” The report also said: “Nine hundred million people already go hungry and 2 billion people are malnourished in spite of the fact that per capita food production continues to increase.”
Consumption of animal products does not merely use resources, it depletes them. Sustaining a meat, dairy and egg-eating culture requires at least 17 times more land, 14 times more water, and from 10 to 20 times more consumption of fossil fuels and other energy sources, than would be required to sustain a purely vegan culture of the same size. Cattle need nearly 4.5 times the amount of water to produce an equivalent tonnage of wheat, making the beef or dairy cow the most water-intensive animal to sustain. Poultry comes in a close second, requiring over 3.5 times the amount of water needed for wheat. Cattle consume nearly ten per cent of the world’s freshwater resources, and eighty per cent of all farmland is devoted to livestock raising. Raising animals for food requires so much water that you could leave your shower on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and not consume more water than someone consuming meat. The land used to grow crops to feed livestock is 10 times what is needed to grow crops for human consumption. Face this fact: Even if 100% of all the land on the six inhabited continents were used for agriculture (including the Sahara desert, Greenland, etc.), and even if that land were as productive as U. S. agricultural land, there would still not be enough land to feed the world population if our diet continues to comprise of animal products. There is not the slightest possibility that the rest of the world will ever be brought "up" to the United States’ destructive standard diet; the resources simply aren’t there. even maintaining a small minority of the world’s citizens on the typical U.S diet will not be possible for very much longer. If resources are not conserved, everyone in the long run may be equal but starve. And in fact, what promotes social injustice in the first place? Owners of large tracts of land who are using that land to promote livestock or animal-based consumption for the elite. Regardless of social system, any country — rich or poor — that emphasizes or maintains animal-based food production is making its food situation, and that of the world, substantially worse.
Also, according to the research lead article "Livestock and Climate Change" published by Worldwatch institute, animal agriculture accounts for 51% of all human-caused greenhouse gases, more than all the transport(13%) in the world and any other contributing factor combined. -
Thank you overpopulation and thank you India

Food prices are high today partly because food-growing regions around the world April-23-2012--Are experiencing the adverse effects of human-induced climate change (such as more droughts and extreme storms), and of water scarcity caused by excessive use of freshwater from rivers and aquifers. In short, the global economy is experiencing a sustainability crisis, in which resource constraints and environmental pressures are causing large price shocks and ecological instability. The dangerous human caused global warming lies just goes on and on. Climate change is real, currently the world is in a severe global cooling spiral caused by an inactive Sun. But you people have not looked at what happens with the Sun. Have you? Whenever that previous happened in history the temperature plunged sharply. This is what is starting to happen now. This will have severe consequences for the world food production. God help us and protect us from these eco nuts.

Do these people still believe that we are in a Climate Change era and that has a link(and explanation on/to) to Global Warming?? Really?! Oh, brother..., wise up, c'mon. Study, research on your own and do the math... Peace
