Globalization I - The Upside: Crash Course World History #41
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
In which John Green teaches you about globalization, a subject so epic, so, um, global, it requires two videos. In this video, John follows the surprisingly complex path of t-shirt as it criss-crosses the world before coming to rest on your doorstep, and eventually in your dresser. (Unless you're one of those people who never puts their laundry away and lives out of a laundry basket. If that's the case, shame on you.) Anyway, the story of the t-shirt and its manufacture in far-flung places like China, Guatemala, and India is a microcosm of what's going on in the global economy. Globalization is a bit of a mixed bag, and there have definitely been winners and losers along the way. In this episode John will talk about some of the benefits that have come along with it. Next week, he'll get into some of the less-positive side effects of globalization. Also, you should turn on the captions. You said at 7:45 that remittances account for a % of GDP, but are they not only calculated in GNP and not GDP?

Political globalization is a direct path to One World Government.
Our society isn't mature enough for that, yet.
Our constitution has started to devolve into this:
Right to free speech-- except when it offends someone
Right to bear arms-- except when it's anything that can harm anyone
Right to privacy-- except when it slows down law enforcement
Right to fair trial-- except when it slows down law enforcement
So, I'm on high alert.
All sovereign nations are at risk for hijacking under 'globalization'.
We don't want your rapefugees.
We don't want your socialist tax rates.
We don't want your white guilt and feminazism.
We don't want your disarmament.
We don't want to give money to Greece.
We don't want an E.U. Army.
We don't want political globalization. -

Globalisation fancy word for new world order, one world government, one bank, one currency

Economic globalisation works when everyone plays by the rules. The market needs to be free, but also fair. China is 'stealing' US jobs because firms don't have to pay their employees much over there, so they all pack up and produce their product in China and then sell it back to the US. Trump wants to tariff these products as a way of stopping firms from leaving in the first place. This shouldn't have to happen. If China and everybody else played by the rules, then the global economy should sort itself out. China will still take some industries if they are better at it or can produce cheaper, but this also allows for the US and other countries to do the exact same. As long as every country plays fairly.
