Green MEPs push for renewables and phase out of nuclear power

At their meeting in Budapest last week, Greens from across Europe demonstrated against any future reliance on nuclear power. In the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Greens MEPs today displayed anti-nuclear and pro-renewables images at the start of a debate on nuclear safety. Members highlighted that renewable energy sources can provide a viable alternative to nuclear, and that the phase out of nuclear power plants across Europe must begin immediately.
