we live under natural laws, the creation of a consumer society disrupted that, so when this population cycle happens it becomes disruptive to the current system. just read history, this will lead to the imperialist going into Africa in order to perpetuate the cycle of consumerism.

Zowie - world population needs to go down - a lot. Primarily the population in the developed world needs to go down because we are the problem with our rampant energy use and destruction of the biosphere and climate. Those of us lucky enough to be born in certain parts of the world are rich beyond campare. We need to protect our planet for our own future, we need more equity for all to reduce terrorism and suffering. It's about time we stopped spending trillions blowing countries back to the stone age and actually worked together as if we were one race - the human race that is utterly dependent upon this planet and it's myriad of other life for our survival.
