Charlie Rose so wanted to believe The Magical Obama would save the nation and not ruin it.
-
Value added tax? That's the solution? He honestly believes America's trillion dollar debt will be paid that way. Best luck! ( that's a super regressive tax btw)
-
Charlie Rose must be kicking his rear for not taking Math while in College!
-
Not only that, Rose is talking like a madman, saying "but it's not totally impossible, not totally impossible!!!!!!!111!!11" Yeah idiot, and it's not "totally impossible" that i'll stop jerking off for a month. Everything is possible until after the fact, but to have a mature discussion you can't act like an idiot like Rose. P.S. I wonder if he still thinks this country has mustered the political will and ability to solve the debt issue now in 2013
-
3 years later, Rose's naive statement that "the Obama administration is promising to CUT THE DEFICIT IN HALF by 2012" was clearly wrong. The deficit is nearly as bad now as it was in 2009! So in large part Rose was basing his arguments on an ultra-"Rosey" scenario, that never came true. The US is still on the edge, even more so now than in 2009 when this interview was made, because we're $3TR more in the hole, with no end in sight!
-
I agree with equsnamd. Rose is trying to keep up the media cover for the Obama administration ("Stimulus was good... all is well!") and the liberal economic bastion of Keynesianism, while Ferguson is trying to speak the truth and using economic common sense. That's why Rose keeps butting in to challenge Ferguson. Politics (and Rose's own arrogance) is blocking the truth here..... Rose, shut the bleep up once in a while!
-
More like an obviousist, but yeah.
-
Thank you.
-
They were talking abt 12Trillion Dollars of debt and that was 2009. Currently, our debt is at 16Trillion dollars. Wake up people!!!!!!
-
This video is so relevant 3 yrs after. Charlie Rose shows how ignorant he is.
-
Shut up charile rose!
-
This show is about one hour. Rose cuts it in half way, funny
-
Niall Ferguson was a man before his time. Everything he said is dead on and the debt is worse today under Obama. This game that America is playing will no longer last and the decline will begin.
-
charlie rose is seriously annoying... he's invited someone on his show only to try to talk over him...
-
Ferguson v Rose is a cannon to kill a fly.
-
nothings changed.. the only thing will help us is complete restructuring and cooperation and i highly doubt that will happen.. its unfortunately looks even more like america is screwed
-
I'm no economist, but I think that he just predicted the events of the last week from two years ago. Not bad, now if only he'd give me some lotto numbers.
-
Why is Rose bothering to ask who Ferguson who he gets his information from? It becomes a "I don't trust that person, but I do trust that person" which has no sense in the realm of economics.
-
Charlie Rose.....SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!
-
Charlie Rose plays the part of the willfully obtuse American to the hilt here, so much so that I doubt that very much of Dr. Ferguson's message got through to him - hopefully the viewers were more receptive. While Dr. Ferguson may not be correct on all points, his warnings should not be ignored. Unfortunately, that is exactly what is happening as we watch...
