Hidden Face of Globalization

In the global economy, corporations demand enforceable laws - intellectual property and copyright laws - backed up by sanctions to protect their products. However, when we ask these same companies, "Can't we also protect the rights of the 16-year-old who made the product?," the companies respond: "No. That would be an impediment to free trade!" Young garment workers in Bangladesh share their experiences working for companies like Disney and Wal-Mart.

It's confusing to think how the world created these third world countries, who decided that we treat people like this? how did we become more superior in the money making industry than these other poorer countries?

Women purchasing habbits cause this

If the Canadian and American government stop buying all products from Bangladesh, the people from Bangladesh will be left hungry and on the street without money to support their families. What you believe is mistreatment in a 3rd world country is the norm. Ask yourself what am i doing to help these people? Are you researching company and corporations that support this kind of starvation wages and labors? Do you buy from these companies ? Maybe you can start an organization that exposes and spreads the harsh reality of 3rd world countries. Raise money from exposure in order to donate money for sanitary conditions to workers, and maybe better proper places to eat. Rather than workers having to sit on roofs in the burning sun, or exposes to cold rain. Maybe think about visiting workers who wish to start a union, even though they might be beaten fired or harassed it would be best for the future of the workers. Begin to ask yourself all of this because once you do. You can begin to create a plan or idea for yourself to help these people. Rather than leaving it up to your god, in which you want to magically descend from heaven to do all of this for you. There is nothing wrong with having faith in an almighty god or creator, but maybe we as people can begin to question and try to solve these problems on our own. Rather than act surprised or complain about these problems in the world. We can truly help these people if we all play our part.

So what did these people do before globalization? Was they all prostitutes? If they starved to death before globalization, they would not be here now!
-
I don't need clothes this bad! On top of everything their going through, they're beaten. Disgusting! And you who think this is God's doing, you're insane! This is the doing of Satan (pure evil)!!!

Everything is double-edge sword, as same as globalization. The inequality of sex is always.
-
It dumb to boycott products from Bangladesh. If we stop buying, we stop employment over in Bangladesh. All those people can't afford to lose their job. With no jobs, they have no money to eat and will most likely end up being a prostitute to get that money. Nobody can actually force someone to work, but their hunger forces them to work. Tough world
-
This is the fault of the country that allows this to take place to their citizens. I would myself and take some people down with me if this was my life.
-
Although globalization creates many opportunities for people who need job, we cannot ignore those miserable jobs like video mentions. Their life quality cannot be guaranteed. Globalization provides a flow of cheap labor force, but doesn't provide a complete law system to protect them.
-
Ughhhhhh this makes me so mad!
-
My name is Jamie, I think the canadian and amercian government should stop buying all products from bangladesh. These people don't deserve to be treated like this at all. I can't wait until Jesus will make a new heaven and a new earth.

beating women, very smart, you assholes. Keep it up and God is about to take care of you like in the days of Moses.
-
Why do all these women continue to work for companies that treat them this way? Would they not be better off simply quitting their jobs there and going back to a more traditional way of life as farmers or something? I'm not criticising them. I am just imagining that if I were one of them I'd rather head back to living off the land than work for these jerks, so what is stopping them?
-
We got a global economy but not a global law system. People get angry when the US, the UN, or any of the entities called the government of the west tells them that they should be doing things differently in their country. So when labor is offered cheap and supplies are rerouted indirectly so big corporations can keep their hands clean. How does it surprise us?

I would suggest some economic education.

Well, you know what they say? The trade of for a nice and democratic West is a impoverished and dictated East...by the West. Hence Communism rosed - to combat this unfairness.
