It explains how the Chinese got involved in World War 2 and what they had to do to defend their country against the Japanese invasion. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND / CONTEXT The Second Sino-Japanese War was a military conflict fought primarily between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan from 1937 to 1945. It followed the First Sino-Japanese War of 1894–95. China fought Japan, with some economic help from Germany (see Sino-German cooperation until 1941), the Soviet Union and the United States. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the war would merge into the greater conflict of World War 2 as a major front of what is broadly known as the Pacific War. One could call the Second Sino-Japanese War part of World War 2, but it is still mainly thought it started in 1939, when Germany invaded Poland. The Second Sino-Japanese War was the largest Asian military conflict in the 20th century. It accounted for the majority of civilian and military casualties in the Pacific War, with anywhere between 10 and 25 million Chinese civilians and over 4 million Chinese and Japanese military personnel. The war was the result of a decades-long Japanese imperialist policy aimed at expanding its influence politically and militarily in order to secure access to raw material reserves and other economic resources in the area, particularly food and labor. The period after World War 1 brought about increasing stress on the Japanese polity. Leftists sought universal suffrage and greater rights for workers. Increasing textile production from Chinese mills were adversely affecting Japanese production. The Depression brought about a large slowdown in exports. All of this contributed to militant nationalism, culminating in the rise to power of a militarist fascist faction. This Faction was led at its height by the Imperial Rule Assistance Association's Hideki Tojo cabinet under the edict from Emperor Showa (aka. Emperor Hirohito). Before 1937, China and Japan fought in small, localized engagements, so-called "incidents". In 1931, the Japanese invasion of Manchuria by Japan's Kwantung Army followed the Mukden Incident. The last of these incidents was the Marco Polo Bridge Incident of 1937, which marked the beginning of total war between the two countries. Initially the Japanese scored major victories, such as the Battle of Shanghai, and by the end of 1937 captured the Chinese capital of Nanking. After failing to stop the Japanese in Wuhan, the Chinese central government was relocated to Chongqing in the Chinese interior. By 1939, after Chinese victories in Changsha and Guangxi, and with Japan's lines of communications deep into the Chinese interior territories becoming stretched, the war had reached a stalemate. The Japanese were also unable to defeat the Chinese communist forces in Shaanxi, which waged a campaign of sabotage and guerrilla warfare against the invaders. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and the following day (December 8, 1941) the United States declared war on Japan. The United States began to aid China via airlift materiel over the Himalayas after the Allied defeat in Burma that closed the Burma Road. In 1944 Japan launched a massive invasion and conquered Henan and Changsha. However, this failed to bring about the surrender of Chinese forces. In 1945, Chinese Expeditionary Force resumed its advance in Burma and completed the Ledo road linking India and China. At the same time, China launched large counteroffensives in South China and retook the west Hunan and Guangxi. Despite continuing to occupy much of China's territory, Japan eventually surrendered on September 2, 1945 to Allied forces following the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Soviet invasion of Japanese-held Manchuria. The remaining Japanese occupation troops in China (excluding Manchuria) formally surrendered on September 9, 1945 with the following International Military Tribunal for the Far East convened on April 29, 1946. At the outcome of the Cairo Conference of November 22–26, 1943, the Allies of World War 2 decided to restrain and punish the aggression of Japan by restoring all the territories that Japan annexed from China, including Manchuria, Formosa, and the Pescadores, to the Republic of China, and to expel Japan from the Korean Peninsula. China was recognized as one of the Big Four of Allies during the war and became one of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Mao steals the nation from Sun Zhongshan, that is true.
However, under Sun's ruling, China was never United as a nation. That's why when Taiwanese are arguing that Mao never defeated Japan, we Taiwanese did. But as Chinese I will say that Mao's war porpoganda guides people united in a magnificent scale which China never became for thousands years. -
This would have been a good documentary on the Sino-Japanese War and the state of china, if it wasn't made as war time propaganda lol

Instead of bitching nowadays about bullshit , chinese people should forever be grateful that usa saved their asses in ww2 . If they didnt intervene all china wouldve been big slave market with lots of comfort women in them for the japanese soldiers. I believe that in our generation everyone should honor the brave soviet and american soldiers who saved our future by dying in the battlefield and standing up against axis

Japs are very gentle and kind at first sight. Whenever I enter their stores, they always bow. They show respect with utmost care and concern for their customers.I feel very moved at their attitudes toward customers.
But as far as history, they don't repent or feel any sorry for the weak. cause they don't have any slightest remorse or repentence for their nasty war crimes against the weaker people. cause the weak are just the lowest animal whose status is the most bottom so that they can be ignored.
But Japs' king surrendered and begged down to save his neck which was amazingly coward and hilarious. All he did was to force all his surbonates to shoulder the burdens and responsibilities on the nasty war crimes.
I hope Japs will change their nasty views on history and be enlighted out of the zoos.they are kept in the zoos as apes. so the only alternative to Jap problems is to be annihiliated at full and whole scale. so everyone around the world point to Japs as sub humans or parasites to the entire human race.
They are bound by shackles to live up to the expectations of our master race, United States. We order, they follow. that's the order. -
Even a military leader of Chinese Kuomintang, Chiang Kai-shek never said that there was a massacre in Nanjing. In those days, the Chinese Kuomintang troops were repeating scorched earth policies, and so many poor Chinese were suffering from evildoing of Chinese military. When the Japanese troops arrived in Nanjing, the city was already the burned ruins. A history Chinese people believe is a malicious fiction of the Chinese Communist Party. Of course, Japanese people deny scheming Chinese propaganda.

Have you read the book of Ralph Townsend or Frederick Vincent Williams ?
These American intellectuals wrote the truth based on the real experiences in China during the WW2. However, they were finally wiped out by the US government as anti-American activists, because their local reports in China had so many inconvenient truth to the US. For example, in fact, a large amount of Chinese had willingly rushed into prosperous Manchukuo which the Japanese government had ruled in China. -

Brain-washed Chinese believe as if Chinese military did nothing cruel against Japanese denizen in those days. For example, Tongzhou incident is an attack incident that Chinese troops 3,000 people had attacked the Japanese troops 110 people and Japanese denizen 380 people in Tongzhou of China July 29, 1937.
In "Behind the News in China" November 1938, Frederick Vincent Williams wrote as follows:
Chinese massacre against Japanese in Tongzhou will be recorded in history as the worst mass-slaughter. Japanese screams by rape or torture of Chinese soldiers were heard all day.
On the other hand, Japanese survivors testified as follows:
In corpses of naked Japanese women, the breasts and genital area had been gouged with a knife. In corpses of naked Japanese men, eyeballs had been hollowed out, and internal organs were scattered. Severed heads were linked together by iron wire. Japanese toddler naked corpses were arranged in a row like a freak show. Countless Japanese dead bodies had been abandoned in a pond, and the water was stained red with blood.
The ringleader was Cho-Keiyo 張慶余, and he became a lieutenant general of China Kuomintang army after Tongzhou incident. -

This is a piece of wartime report on the struggles of the brave united people of China in their stubborn resistance against the blatant invasion of the Japanese jingoistic decision to brutally suppress China with brute inhuman military force, colonial style. It looks as if this clip has been responded by quite a few anti-Chinese propagandists who are bent on helping to rewrite history with their personal twisted logic, very much like the present generation of Japanese who have been successfully brainwashed by their right-wing politicians with selective memory of Japan's criminal activities in WW2. The current whole-scale collective amnesia of the Japanese people is most frightening because if the mistakes in history are not learnt then the possibility of a repeat of past sinful acts can recur, sometimes with little warning. No wonder the US still has to maintain so many bases and station so many troops in Japan, just to make sure. China does have to keep a watchful eye of the growing unrest of those war advocates in Tokyo and meanwhile strengthens her military capabilities while making an all out effort to leapfrog into the modern era in all areas of development, especially in her inter-ethnic relationship which some in the West are somehow rather keen to poke in their insensitive noses and thereby negating much of the good work put in by the Chinese people and government.

Cunning Chinese people always tell a lie that Uighur and Tibet are included in the Chinese territory. To be precise, Chinese Communist military had invaded their vast land by force. As Chinese crafty assimilation policy, these different ethnic groups are prohibited from their language, religion, and traditional culture and habit now.
Never trust China ! -
Although it is well known fact, Chinese government has been repeated the atomic bomb experiments in northern desert area where Uighurs live. Uighurs have been exposed to radioactive contamination for many years, and many Uighurs are suffering from incurable disease now. Of course, Chinese government has completely ignored these victims.
On the other hand, cunning Chinese are pretending to be pathetic victims of Sino-Japanese war which was already terminated many many many many years ago. You see, Chinese are terribly scheming. -
The Jews have forgiven Germany, it's time for the Chinese to forgive Japan.

People should be careful to watch Chinese propaganda which has been shown Japanese atrocity. I’d like to show a film which is called The Battle of China. This wartime propaganda film is directed by Frank Capra, American famous director of 1930's, and comes out in l944. In the film, there are ten-second scenes of the description of Nanking Massacre. However, these can hardly be the true description, because of the following reasons.
1 An officer is taking a woman by force. His epaulet is different from that of the Japanese officer. The medal he wears on the breast is not of the Japanese Army in terms of design.
2 A man wears a revolver belt. But, the then Japanese soldiers don't wear it, since they didn't use a revolver. Also, he doesn't wear a saber but a parade sword. But, in war, a parade sword has never been used.
3 Chinese inhabitants in the film are in shirts with half sleeves in the cold wintertime.
A piece of paper which says 'Three People's Principles' is on the chest of a woman who is being buried alive, but Japanese do not have such a way of thinking. On the other hand, this custom was still observed in the 1930s in China. The whole things are forged pictures!
