3. This economy is a misguided one; we need a different vision because we already have 400,000 people born everyday on this planet. People are not supported in having children either. It costs $6000.00 just for the hospital birth, and then if something goes wrong, it's endless. I wanted so bad to be a stay at home mom, but this economy forces everyone to have a job so nothing else gets done well.

   no but really though, all this is right and all but i don't see why the current estimated number of people all the way up to 2050 is "less". We are destroying the very planet that we live on as is with the current amount of people and in case you have already forgotten Humans are not the only living species on Earth but we share her with numerous other species that are far more important than us to keeping the earth and its systems alive (which is already a huge, and not any more "a growing", concern)

10. The actual birth rate per couple worldwide is now 2.1 not 2.5. It wasn't even 2.5 in the 90s but actually 2.4 (hence the name of the show 2.4kids).
    
    And at today's rate of 2.1 per couple, and an average living age rising to about 100, by aprox year 2100 we will top out the population at about 10.5b.
    
    There are issues with not enough working age people to support miners and oaps, which need to be fixed, economic changes, but also GM foods need to be embraced and water needs close attention.
    
    However if the 2.1 birth rates drops to <2, and it is likely, given the trend, and that places like India and Africa actually skew the fingers upward today, the global population could start shrinking in the next 30 years or so, or at least stabalising .
11. This video is extremely short sighted. 7 billion plus human beings on the planet is over obviously WAY too many. True or not, to imply that we'll do better economically by cranking up population growth can only come from the mind of a mental midget.
