   The government of Iceland understood that its main responsibility was its citizens, NOT the corrupt Anglo banking system.
   
   The US government did not follow the same priorities. Instead it impoverished its citizens with more debt to bail out the banking system. Which it had done before. Anmd it did not change the laws effectively to prevent a recurrence in the future.
   
   It is a pity that the US government does not understand its responsibility to its citizens. It is also a pity that the US citizens tolerate the fact that its politicians are owned in fee simp[le by banks, big business, the extremely wealthy, and foreign interests.
   
   This is a major reason for the stagnation of the US economy since the financial collapse, and will eventually be one of the causes of the next financial collapse.

When you truly know how money and debt work (the simple switching of numbers) then you will understand how this works and why you should never, ever pay back a cash bank loan. The few that were jailed were jailed based on antiquated laws written when money was valued according to Gold. We stopped depleting the Earth of Gold reserves a long time ago. Those Iceland banks that "went under," just simply changed their name, put up a new sign and started again the next day. Their bail out would have been based out of the American FED. All currencies are eventually based on the American Dollar, no longer in gold or silver. It's too complicated to explain why, just suffice it to say it is as a result of many decades of unparalleled world financial domination and because the American Federal Reserve (FED) is the only financial institution that operates independently and is not beholden to any government or bank. They are governed by a very private, elite, self-appointed Board of Directors. Even most American politicians are clueless to how this works, not to mention how clueless Iceland politicians would be. How could they know? In the end it was an issue of semantics mainly, except that the citizens were easily relieved of their debt (though they never needed to pay it back anyway) and so that is definitely a good thing. Whether the keystrokes were made on Iceland's computers or on the World Bank/FED computers, the solution would have been the same.

14. Last time I checked, there was a huge bailout for the banks and heavy restrictions on the Icelandic krone. I wouldn't say Iceland beat the banks. And the bailout to the people only applied to people who had big loans. Iceland still has very high taxes and not nearly as strong a wealthfare system as rest of the nordic nations, longer work hours, lesser pay, corrupt politicians and a ever present cold rain is what Iceland stands for.
