How smart grids might help our world economy: Erik Pihl at TEDxGöteborg
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
Smart grids? Erik Pihl, internationally respected expert on solar energy, see great potential in electricity grids that can help us with the right incentives to make good use of energy. Through clever design and information technology this kind of interlinked systems can take into consideration our resources as well as our needs. For Erik Pihl, there are also parallels between electricity grids and our current world economy... In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

In my opinion, the US should construct a superconducting hub, to eliminate distance between production and consumption of electricity - as part of Grid 2 point zero.

What about the cost of getting cancer, neurological illness or genetic damage from smart grid and smart meters? Smart meters are completely unnecessary to save energy and this tactic is used to try and get a wary pubic to accept these armed spy devices that automatically over charge, spies on the customer and can KILL the customer. You need to educate yourself Erik on this very disturbing down side of smart grid.
