The basis for power elite membership is institutional power, namely an influential position within a prominent private or public organization. About the book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1250013836/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1250013836&linkCode=as2&tag=tra0c7-20&linkId=14f664531eccf33ed2a2b7bdfbc47f0a One study of power elites in the USA under George W. Bush identified 7,314 institutional positions of power encompassing 5,778 individuals. A later study of US society found that the demographics of this elite group broke down as follows: Age Corporate leaders average about 60 years of age. The heads of foundations, law, education, and civic organizations average around 62 years of age. Government-sector members about 56. Gender Women are barely represented among corporate leadership in the institutional elite and women only contribute roughly 20 percent in the political realm. They do appear more among top positions when it comes to cultural affairs, education, and foundations. Ethnicity White Anglo-Saxons dominate in the power elite, with Protestants representing about 80 percent of the top business leaders and about 73 percent of members of Congress. Education Nearly all the leaders are college-educated with almost half having advanced degrees. About 54 percent of the big-business leaders and 42 percent of the government elite are graduates of just 12 heavily endowed, prestigious universities. Social Clubs Most holders of top position in the power elite possess exclusive membership in one or more social clubs. About a third belong to a small number of especially prestigious clubs in major cities like New York, Chicago, Boston, and D.C.[16] In the 1970s an organized set of policies promoted reduced taxes, especially for the wealthy, and a steady corrosion of the welfare safety net.[17] Starting with legislation in the 1980s, the wealthy banking community successfully lobbied for reduced regulation.[18] The wide range of financial and social capital accessible to the power elite gives their members heavy influence in economic and political decision making, allowing them to move toward attaining desired outcomes. Sociologist Christopher Doob gives a hypothetical alternative stating that these elite individuals would consider themselves the overseers of the national economy, appreciating that it is not only a moral but a practical necessity to focus beyond their group interests. Doing so would hopefully alleviate various destructive conditions affecting large numbers of less affluent citizens. Mills determined that there is an "inner core" of the power elite involving individuals that are able to move from one seat of institutional power to another. They therefore have a wide range of knowledge and interests in many influential organizations, and are, as Mills describes, "professional go-betweens of economic, political, and military affairs."[19] Relentless expansion of capitalism and the globalizing of economic and military power binds leaders of the power elite into complex relationships with nation states that generate global-scale class divisions. Sociologist, Manuel Castells, writes in The Rise of the Network Society that contemporary globalization does not mean that "everything in the global economy is global."[20] So, a global economy becomes characterized by fundamental social inequalities with respect to "the level of integration, competitive potential and share of the benefits from economic growth."[21] Castells cites a kind of "double movement" where on one hand, "valuable segments of territories and people" become "linked in the global networks of value making and wealth appropriation," while, on the other, "everything and everyone" that is not valued by established networks gets "switched off... and ultimately discarded."[21] The wide-ranging effects of global capitalism ultimately affect everyone on the planet as economies around the world come to depend on the functioning of global financial markets, technologies, trade and labor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite

That moment when 70% of people see 'pre-snowden' Glenn Greenwald for the first time. No, hes not a "Johnny Come-lately". Yes, he is insightful.
-
they never even discuss how domestic laws are violated by the elite against the American comlen everyday. they're just talking, mainly, about international law. check out my "equalism 110: Selective Enforcement of the Law" and "equalism 106: Legal expertise with 4 simple concepts" for perspectives on domestic legal abuses.

of course we have a 2 tier legal system. I've been repeatedly abused by it. I just did a series of videos called... "equalism 110: Selective Enforcement of the Law" and "equalism 106: Legal expertise with 4 simple concepts". my only complaint about discussions like this is that both lecturers are members of the elite. as an american poor person its getting more and more aggravating when rich people discuss the problems of the poor. let the poor speak for themselves which is what equalism does. its a philosophy of a poor person who's developed their own solutions to predanomic society. check out my equalism channel to learn more,

-Accepting the occupy movement!, Oh!, I can understand. Any important, well-known person is like a big rock, can be destroyed (broken) by those false allies -but the ordinary person, as a sand, cannot; and on general, those ordinary people can be the solution to say the truth, to fly like a sand and stop to each ear of unknowledgeable people.
"The interests behind the Bush Administration, such as de CFR, the Bilderberg Group, and the Trilateral Commission -- founded by Brazezinski for David Rockefeller -- have prepared for and are now moving to implement open world dictatorship within the nest five years. They are not fighting against terrorists. They are fighting against citizens." -- Dr. Johannes B. Koeppl, PhD, former German Defense Ministry official and advisor for former NATO Secretary -- Gen. Manfred Werner, Nov. 6, 2001.
Lock for us that those group, devotee of devil, did achieve what they want. -
Maybe is good to read a Faculty Publications, Georgetown Law -- Suing the Federal Government: Sovereignty, Immunity, and Judicial Independence, Vicki C. Jackson, Professor of Law.

I agree with that 100%. I am in the beginning stage of legal education - I am late in age. My original studies and careers did not have me thinking at all that I would be led to law - LoL! I do agree with you.

My question is this. How does one FIGHT a system this evil or SURVIVE in it once marked or convicted, or investigating, or charging it?

This system is quite currupt. I was kidnapped by a CPT Siddal and a 1SG Schemmel on Fort Hood then transferred to prison in the State of Texas. They and Bell County Texas have used the exact same means that are mentioned here for the past five (5) years. Am on parole now, and am still having to physically and psychologically defend myself now to keep them from killing me or like this 15 year old, commit myself to life in prison.

I work for the Florida Department of Revenue as an Administrative Secretary. Since working there my employer has accessed my personal home computer as well as my cellphone remotely. The purpose in accessing my email and other websites that I use is to obtain information on jobs that I have applied to in order to block better employment opportunities. On June 8th, 2016 is when I first realized that my computer was being accessed so changed all of my passwords and made sure my computer was off when I left home for work the next morning. On June 9th I came home and turned my computer on and there was an error message where there had been an attempt to download truekey software but access was not allowed because they did not have authorization,as stated by the error message. I took screenshots of my desktop and I also noticed that there were Peoplefirst files on my computer that I had not put there. Peoplefirst is our state government website. I again changed my passwords but I made them the name of my supervisor and the IT tech that works in our office. The majority of the employees there are aware of the activity. When I came in to work on June 10th a few of the employees made it know that they knew what I had done because the access was suppose to be a secret from me. I had also left a few notes to let them know that I knew what was going on my home desk top computer. When I got home there was another error message were the attempted to delete tracking and blocking software that was installed on my computer called peerblock, but again the error message stated that they did not have authorization. At this point when I got home from work on June 10th, I contacted AT&T for help with a hacker issue. They cleaned my computer and downloaded antivirus software and I changed my passwords again. The next day the computer was was accessed again. I was aware of this because I left several electronic sticky notes on my desktop. I placed them neatly and when I got home from work the note were in disarray where they had apparently been read. I contacted AT&T again but I was told that I didn't have a hacker. AT&T supplies services for the Department of Revenue. As of right now my computer is under constant surveillance, as well as my phone. I contacted the FBI and employees on my job knew it by the following morning. I am under the suspicion that AT&T is allowing access to my personal home computer. I called AT&T to obtain a letter stating the dates of service when I obtained their hacker prevention service and I was told by a manager that I would have to get an attorney to get records of services that I was paying for, and so I requested that the service be cancelled and they told me that I could not cancel. My solution was not to pay and they would turn off my internet service. At present I have not made a payment since June and my internet is still active. Just yesterday they limited access to my college where I am completing my BS in Legal Studies/ Pre-law, but the internet is still running. I have screenshots of all that I am reporting to you. I have been late previously with AT&T and the day after the due date my access was stopped completely. That was a reminder at that time that I had forgotten to pay my bill. This is the second month and I still have internet service. I contacted the FTC and FCC on yesterday using my phone and the Department of Revenue is already aware that I filed a complaint over my phone. My 4th Amendment right are being violated due to unreasonable search of my personal computer, email, school site, and job sites. The Declaration of Independence states that the Creator has endowed us with certain inalienable rights, LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS. The violations that I am experiencing are not allowing me to enjoy these rights. I need help!!!

Man, the disabled guy I can understand to a degree, but his problem is presented by that of a child. He has a disability. That sucks that he has a disability, but that no means makes him deserving of more special treatment to him over another individual. That is quite the opposite of modern civilization. Modern civilization is the exact thing that is making it possible for people like himself to even exist. This guy proposing that his path be paved and established for him is exempting himself from any effort by himself. In my experience when able people help people that are disabled, we don't help you intending for you to feel uncomfortable, we help intending that you will get to experience something and not be held back by your own disability. For you to complain about help that is being offered is a disservice to the entire disabled community and is just an ugly display of character. If this is an older man it makes me even more disappointed because he has all the access that anyone has to the internet and all the information it provides yet he hasn't utilized it to develop his own mind. Also who do you think does the work of constructing buildings, roads, sewage, machinery, and all the other modern things your use. Mostly able bodied individuals. The fact that many services that able bodied individuals make are being provided to you free is the exact point of how accommodating modern civilization is to your needs. Stop complaining about what you dislike and recognize what you have.

Oh my God, that handicapped guy at the end. Jesus, Im sure he truly is miserable.

To the "disabled gentleman"...I understand your plight, I have a disability that impedes my mobility as well and have to deal with this daily, BUT, there is a time and a place for everything, and this is NOT the time, nor place to take this battle. Glenn and Noam are dealing with human rights at an entirely different level, concerning different issues, and bringing attention to problems that affect everyone in this country. I know how jarring bricks can be, I know how hard it can be to reach some places, but there is a difference between your pride being somehow hurt because you had to come in the back, and being reasonable and accepting that you are indeed different. This should make you stronger, and able to appreciate things MORE than most people as you don't take many things for granted (once you are able to someday, hopefully, get over yourself and accept your position). When I take an hour to get 1/3 mile across tall grass and saplings in a field to reach my hunting spot, I enjoy the reason I am there, and CHOICE I MADE TO DO SO rather than pout about it not being paved for me, and I enjoy the rest of the day. It is ONLY when you let your physical handicap become an emotional and mental one that there are issues. If it is so important that you make it through the front door rather than the one they spend tens of thousands building for you, find a way, and quit whining about it.
This was a talk about much greater problems, against much larger issues.
