Thanks for the tutorials, very useful, game looks a bit more manageable to me now!

Running deficits helps out the private sector a lot.
-
One thing that always bug me with these games, why would a space empire need money? Its silly. Only thing that matters should be energy and resources.

Hey Daz, One simple question brother; have you any plans to just finish the scenario you have been playing?

I don't get why it's always the damn American billion, they are the only country in the world using that word in that sense. EVERYONE else is saying milliard (with small degree of spelling variations) for the same amount.
And thank you Das, for another excellent series!
I've been looking a long time for a game like this, everything nowadays just seems like it goes the streamline and dumb-down path. So this is a much needed breath of fresh air...now I just need to find time to play it :P -
Using the government: Corporate Nationalism, don't you get some control over the Private Sector?

Thanks, js finished all the vids can't wait to start playing!

Excellent!

Nicely done. I appreciate all the work and time you've put into doing these tutorials. I've watched all 16 and think I have a pretty good handle on what to do. Thanks.

just started playing this game as i love these kinds of games with deep learning curve, love the series you have made made alot of it much easier to understand :) but this last episode made my head hurt just within the first second when i saw the length of the episode and the title lol, ill come back to this later if i need to i guess.

Very good - just one nitpick. You use the term "floating point" to have an unconventional meaning. In normal computerese it corresponds to a representation of numbers (like 3.0000...) as opposed to an integer representation (3), the former requiring a lot more storage memory, but required for more accurate calculations.I think you mean numbers that change in real time?

-5k? :)
Play on large maps and you will have situations where you are at -500k without any (major) problems (especially since the bonus income can jump into the millions if the private sector or tourism is booming). It really depends on the size of your empire, but larger empires are somewhat more expensive since you need a ton of ships, facilities, troops and stations to actually protect it from aggressors, which mostly pick unprotected areas to attack it.
You should have a close look especially at troop costs in the later game. You often end up with tons of troops on an invaded planet, and some of them might even be very expensive. If you have clones or mechanical troops just scrap everything else (in the troop screen sort them to their expenses) which is more expensive and create more of the cheap ones which soon get reassigned with the troop transports. I was spending roughly 500k just for expensive but weaker troops which just sit on a planet and do practically nothing. -
Nice job! Very clear.

Hey Das, I have a not-so-on-topic question. Do you happen to know if playing Shadows also enables the Shakturi and Legends storyline or are they not going to happen in the Shadows campaign no matter what? I never thought about that and maybe you're able to tell me from experience.

I am loving this series Das. You have convinced me to purchase the game as soon as funds allow.

I have never seen ten luxury resources in one single game...especially with the rarity of resources now..
-
Gizurea is very poor quality...

another good idea to boost the economy is to build resort bases, which really deliver some good money. also increase the amount of luxury resources or empire-wide needed resources in general can increase the trade income which then will get you out of red numbers.
but if your cashflow and chash-in-hand is both red then the only thing you can really do is reduce your maintenance costs and hope for the best^^.
