A compilation of top advice for IB exams! Connect with me on social media! snapchat: moeinika instagram: moeinika Transcript: - know the syllabus: this is exactly what you'll be tested on, not necessarily what your teachers give you HL English: for paper 2, make a column with each text down one side and imagery, symbols, characters, themes on the other so you can make comparisons, meet and discuss the texts with friends, for paper 1 your bullshitting ability has to be on point HL Bio: make a study guide for each unit, watch lots of videos on the topics, like instead of watching buzzfeed before bed watch some khan academy. Make a seperate study guide just with diagrams you need to know. Add a diagram and IB terms to your answer whenever you can. HL Chem: drop out. LOL I would say the same as IB bio. Know Kinetics or you may be completely screwed over. Know how to draw electrolytic cells and born haber cycles. Make sure you actually know organic chem - if you don't know how to turn an alkane into an alkene by the week of the exam there's no hope left for you (for sciences paper 2 is the hardest so focus on that most. try hard on paper 3 too because people tend to do badly on their options. If you have environmental chem you better know how ozone breaks down and be able to write it out) HL Geo: good job on picking this course it's the easiest. Read newspapers - you don't always have to use the case studies you used in class. Turn a news article into a case study. Especially The Economist - this will help you become the worldly person IB wants you to be also cool adults and UN workers actually read the Economist HL Math: lol HL history: write past exams and practice essay writing SL math: don't put this one off because you hate it. actually do a little bit every day you study. Like after you draw the phospholipid membrane do some derivatives. The biggest mistake with math is trying to do it the night before because you can't actually memorize math it comes with practice. Start right after you watch this video. Then never take math again SL french: practice reading french. Read french news articles. Look over grammar and vocab. Know enough french words about one thing (ex. globalization) and just tie it into everything 1. sharing is caring - share IB resources like past exams with friends around the world because you will all have useful stuff 2. get sleep and exercise - you'll feel a lot better 3. maintain a strong social network - don't break up with your boyfriend during IB exams 4. study in 20 min sessions of focus then switch subjects
