"according to Noam Chomsky its fashism we are living under"
You mean, according to FACT, as relayed by Chomsky.
Facism is when a small group, control society. It resutls in laws being made that benefit the small group, notwithstanding the harm to the greater group. IE the laws making marijuana use a crime, although it treats up to 20 different medical conditions and kills cancer cells. While legal toxins like tobacco and alcohol kill 8+ million people per year. Lots of profit for our masters, lots of harm to our brothers.
We have a faux democracy, that has ben outed by science. We have a ruling elite now doing imperialsim, stealing resoruces and imposing our fraudulent ponzi based monetary system on countries who reject it. The same ponzi scheme monetary system that gave them ownership of the planet.
====================
This is exactly what the Wallenstein is talking about.
“Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.”

““So no, it’s not a hyperbole to say the Banking System is One. We’re not overstating the case when we say it’s just one massive cartel. That the banks own everything, including all the major industries. Oil, Weapons, Pharmaceuticals, Food, Telecom and IT, etc. It’s all one massive monopoly. Controlled from the top down. “
’A total of 737 control 80% of it all”
The Money Power is real and these Swiss gentlemen have done us a favor by crunching the numbers.”

========================
"Until the control of the issue of currency and credit is restored to government and recognized as its most conspicuous and sacred responsibility, all talks of the sovereignty of Parliament and of democracy is idle and futile... Once a nation parts with the control of its credit, it matters not who makes the laws....Usury once in control will wreck the nation."
William Lyon MacKenzie King, former Prime Minister of Canada
=======================
"Actually it’s the standard doctrine of progressive, contemporary democratic theory. So I’ll give some illustrative quotes from leading figures – incidentally not figures on the right. These are all good Woodrow Wilson-FDR-Kennedy liberals, mainstream ones in fact. So according to this version of democracy, “the public are ignorant and meddlesome outsiders. They have to be put in their place. Decisions must be in the hands of an intelligent minority of responsible men, who have to be protected from the trampling and roar of the bewildered herd”. The herd has a function, as it’s called. They’re supposed to lend their weight every few years, to a choice among the responsible men. But apart from that, their function is to be “spectators, not participants in action” – and it’s for their own good. Because as the founder of liberal political science pointed out, we should not succumb to “democratic dogmatisms about people being the best judges of their own interest”. They’re not. We’re the best judges, so it would be irresponsible to let them make choices just as it would be irresponsible to let a three-year-old run into the street. Attitudes and opinions therefore have to be controlled for the benefit of those you are controlling. It’s necessary to “regiment their minds”. It’s necessary also to discipline the institutions responsible for the “indoctrination of the young.” All quotes, incidentally. And if we can do this, we might be able to get back to the good old days when “Truman had been able to govern the country with the cooperation of a relatively small number of Wall Street lawyers and bankers.” This is all from icons of the liberal establishment, the leading progressive democratic theorists. Some of you may recognize some of the quotes.”
Noam Chomsky
We have owners. And what Wallerstein said would pass, is almost to completion.
And still I see this reflection of truth as told by wallerstein is stained by the ignorance of opinion with some fools calling him marxist. Absent reason, logic, or fact. Evidently some people think that truth, is marxist. -
From the perspective of 2015, Wallerstein is merely stating the obvious. Capitalism has moved the world in the direction of the 1980's Hollywood science fiction dystopia. On the other hand, there is little appearance of a Marxist-style uprising. Perhaps the poor are working too many hours to plot the downfall of the wealthy. Then, at times, things just go "Snap!"
On the other side, technology is changing so fast that the only way to preserve "capitalism" is to keep too many people from accumulating enough wealth to buy machinery to make things. As 3D printers improve, who needs factories? What happens when women have the leisure to sew, again? How are the owners of capital going to deal with a society where their goods aren't needed? The only way is to keep people poor, and dependent. Otherwise, there will be no need for a capital class. -
Capitalism "not working anymore". Capitalism has never worked in the sense of equality, sure it may have been great for philanthropy or entrepreneurialism but that doesn't take away the fact that the benefits (largely accumulated by the west) are also countered with its flaws. Those flaws being, extreme differences in quality of life and wealth across the globe due to global capitalism, but also, the toll that the thirst for profit can and HAS impacted the world we live on to large degrees no other specie can even manifest if it had 10x the duration on earth. That said specie would have atleast have the piece of mind to take care of the planet.

edward benays wrote: "the conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in demoncratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country".
What a jerk this wallerstein is, he and his ilk, they can see and predict the future, WOW. talking about lunatics and liars. If the last 2000 years have not taught people a no end of a lesson, nothing will. I understand that wallerstein (looks like he is living in paradise, palm trees, sun and stuff), no wonder he can predict and write books. Selling people dreams and making a lot of money, capitalists love that, even if he is selling marxist garbage. A sellable commodity is a commodity for a capitalist, and a commodity that consciously and intelligently manipulates the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an excellent commodity, Dream onnnnnnnn. -
why do people lie and say marxism. Marx was a religious fanatic, a racist, a conscious liar and hypocrite, who stole hegelianism and prophetised a religion where he claimed that history is a conscious process that is moving towards an end. What a jerk, what a farce. The only thing that characterizes most people is utter ignorance and a horrible tendency to be dragged here and there by very few persons on top of them, literally. People don't dare to say their opinion at work, let alone organizing to change their working conditions, LET ALONE TO RISE UP AND OVERTHROW THE CAPITALISTS, who not only own the means of production, but the livelihood of most people on this planet.

Is Wallerstein deferring to Parsons here when he notes that order (whether "good" or "bad") will come out of the chaos.of the current structural crisis?

Let’s get it out there. I have just turned out to be very jealous towards my brother. He’s been available always. Yet somehow, he’s caused a part-time model to inform him she loves him in less than a thirty day period. Just how is that manageable? He said to me he used the Cupid Love System (Google it!) I wish someone exquisite told me that… I can’t recall ever before seeing him so fulfilled. Kind of makes me frustrated.

I found that really useful. I'm here because my best friend unexpectedly became outstanding with girls. He went from a nobody into being outstanding. He pretended he failed to realize. Then he explained it to me while he was wasted. He mentioned he learned from the Jake Ayres Master Attraction Formula. Google it if you'd like to know about it... He's on a date right now with a stunning girl... Lucky dick!

You sound like a Frescoite? I was a ZMer myself for a while, despite the limitations of its theory & experience. "Future By Design" was really inspiring for me; check it out if you haven't seen it. ZM is basically a communist movement which is so young it has no theory and so organic it hasn't realized that communists have been working on the same problems for centuries. I do see Peter Joseph coming around. (Obviously Stalin wasn't a communist, since he murdered Lenin & most of the Bolsheviks.)

It seems to me that capitalism was never 'coupled' with science. Judging from 1450, life for most people has been generally bad in the dominant countries. When you talk about the colonial territories, life has been bad for most people ALL the time. Capitalism systematically distorts science in the way that corporations control funding & implementation of technology, but I suspect you already knew that...

@440wedge This man has nothing to do with left or Chomsky. I don't like Chomsky either but what this man says makes no sense. Chomsky either in certain occasions but at least he is a good linguistic. I believe you are leading a great life and very happy with the status quo. Man! The vast majority in the world is not. Under capitalism or socialism. Claiming that capitalism is the most moral system sounds strange if we consider what is happening...lol Try Foucault or other thinkers.

@redzisan Whatever economic system we use, it must be based on the efficient management of resources, development of technology and apreaciation of huma life. The system must allow for people to pursuit their potential and to be able to grow. Educatiom must also be a priority because it is though education that we can teach people the necessary skills to help society to thrive. Without education, a society becomes stagnant as it doesnt have the intelectual resources to solve its problems.
