India, the third largest economy in the world in terms of PPP. It is only a question of time, before India becomes the third largest in terms of exchange rate. GDP PPP is the real measure of cost of living and quality of life GDP exchange rate is the measure of economic power (what it can buy in the world market)
-
India surpassed Japan as the third largest economy in the world in terms of PPP. It is a better indicator of cost of living, quality of life in a country. small eg, cost of an egg in india costs Rs 5 x 12 eggs = $1.11 In the US and Canada 12 eggs cost at least double or more = $2.25 Therefore, even if a country has a higher GDP per capita (individual income), that country's people may still live poorer if the cost of living is more expensive.

@ambardarlane I agree and I'm Chinese. Nothing worse than spending years and years building up your country then watch it fall by starting wars with one another. It will do neither side any good. Best thing to do is to shake hands and move on and end the hostility.

There's no doubt India has A LOT of potentials, but like how America predicted that China would never pass United States to become the No.1 Economic power back in 1960's, to revising that prediction to "not before end of 21st century", to "mid 21st century", to today's "mid-2030s", only time and numbers will tell... And last time I checked, the Chinese bought over Volvo and DSI(world's 2nd largest gearbox manufacturer), again, let time do the talk.
