The fact is, it's not that simple. China is a very complicated nation in terms of wealth. If you just look at GDP, China is the second richest country in the world. If you look at China in terms of per person GDP, it's smack dab in the middle of the world statistics. But wealth gap is even more complicated than that. China is growing very fast. But i'm afraid that everything will go down in let say 10-20 years. Products won't be any cheaper than us or eu made.

Fuck you asshole. Stop promoting China. when we work hard and pay taxes to destroy them

Please consider the purchasing power and living costs and the median of family assets of middle class. From this perspective the Chinese middle class is much more richer than western.

Nice video, Iam Chinese , and Our government and people have always declared that my country is a developing country, that is true.
why you are thinking my country is a rich country ?
we are working hard to make a good life.

Just a thought, in general there is a big difference in per capita income between urban and rural areas everywhere you go. Here in America, I live in a very rural area and per capita income here is only 17k per year per person! This, However, does not necessarily translate into a lower standard of living. I came from a larger city where my income was much higher, when I came here I found that people had alot less money but in many cases had a higher standard of living. They have more land, more space, more freedom, more safety, they eat farm fresh foods, breath better air, hunt, fish, and hike right in their backyard.
I found that even though I made 4x the average income, I could not afford this standard of living in the city. In the city you need more money because you have to buy everything you need from somebody else. So now I live on a small farm, my wife and I raise cattle, keep chickens, have gardens, and I cut wood to heat my small farm house. If you were to add up the value of all the things I produce here and put a number on the value of being able to hunt, fish, hike and camp all right here, I could never earn that much value in the city.....I'd have to make 6 figures. -
well done.;-)

One thing for sure.
I wouldn't go around bragging about that 8000 RMB ($1100 USD pocket change) a month salary teaching English in China. -
income comparison is partial. dont forget the price

i love this video as a Chianese

Of course China is still a poor country.

In most Chinese big cities, the cost of living is about 30%~50% of that in Europe and 40%~60% of that in US. So the living standard compared to the west should better be the GDP per capital divided by that rate. It is still lower but closer

Slip of the tongue at 3:46. He says "one-third of the population own 1% of the wealth."
That may very well be true, but it isn't the subject of the graph shown, nor is it the point he intends to make. He intends the reciprocal point, i% of the population own one-third of the wealth.
This may or may not be true: I suspect that what has been shown is the ownership of private wealth, not the roads, schools, public facilities, etc. etc. which are a large part of the overall wealth.
