4. This is an awesome interview! I am so glad John Taylor Gatto was recommended to me. I have a high schooler in Denver, CO and I have noticed, long ago, how wacky the school system is and what now passes for an education. Students, in 3rd grade, may or may not get taught cursive handwriting, depending on whether the teachers get around to it! I taught him myself, and his advanced placement in the Math and Sciences are a complete joke. Also, this in Atlanta, at age 11 he took a wonderful class trip to Costa Rica for spring break. He learned in 10 days more than others his age in two YEARS. This was an expensive trip, and few could afford it, but these trips should be mandatory! The socioeconomic lessons learned were priceless and indispensable. I was a smidge nervous about age 11, but the teacher in charge said this is the PERFECT age and she was right. Thank you Mr Gatto for sharing your valuable knowledge! We encourage to question everything and never stop. Peace and harmony.

6. Even 20 years ago in Europe, American exchange students coming over were 2-3 years behind in math and other subjects. It was amazing. Vice versa, German exchange students going to t he US had the same reaction as the Russian he talks about - "is this a joke?" even in "gifted" classes. Now, let's consider that was 20 years ago... now it has to be so much worse!! There's a system to the madness, you can be sure of that.

8. I have a small theory and I fully believe everything these and others have spoke of. My theory being that they saw too many winners and successful people being moulded out of the system up until the late 1970's. Another Cabal action to stuff the system up because they have enough on top they need slaves again the grubs. But it is their world is it not? Name one level it isn't?

Webster defines education as "the action or process of teaching someone..." so is the wrong paradigm right off the bat with a hierarchical authority based "teaching" emphasis rather than a self directed "learning" emphasis. Every normal healthy human is born with their own bootstrapping neural network that learns language by merely being in an environment of other primates that speak this language. Once language is learned one can voluntarily CHOOSE any book from a vast accumulating knowledge base on any subject one's interested in RATHER than having a book ASSIGNED. It is so obvious that brains should be free to learn on their own and that the spectrum of teachers to voluntarily choose from is much wider than the tiny spectrum of compulsory school teacher failures and their idiotic curriculum and that school is obsolete yet continues to exist through the "hidden gun" of the government force monopoly making it compulsory and the agenda of keeping sickly "jobs" like bus drivers, cafeteria workers and the teachers themselves, and the corporate managers who want dumb obedient workers. Brains were sculpted by natural selection FOR learning as much as a wing was for flying; they naturally learn, they are biological learning machines. "Teaching" is only valid if the student voluntarily wants a teacher.. otherwise the "teacher" is kidnapping and indoctrinating by choosing the subject/book instead of the student choosing it. This is a ridiculous concept because who, other than the student, knows what the student is interested in? Who's brain is attached to that body, the teacher's or the student's? Hmm.. The vast majority of books ASSIGNED for me to INVOLUNTARILY waste my time reading in compulsory education prison were works of FICTION, completely made up (and always uninteresting because they didn't even choose good fiction in my opinion if I'm even allowed to have one) stories concocted by some unimaginative primate brain when truth is much stranger, much deeper and much more interesting. School clogs your time (even beyond the final bell with homework) and brain so you have little left over to learn on your own. You associate "learning" with authority based "education" so you learn... to hate learning. It is an organized attack on autodidactism. School is human trafficking.
10. So everyone is equal and the system is one big conspiracy. I have a hard time buying this. One of the reasons education is
    so boring is all the competing viewpoints on a school board. By the time you compromise everything is watered down, especially with history. Teacher are who I remember as being a huge source of boredom. I was always happy when a film was shown sparing us a boring lecture. Anyone? Anyone? Buhler?
