Joseph Stiglitz, winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economics and a former World Bank Chief Economist, discussed his new book, "Globalization and Its Discontents" with Kenneth Rogoff, Economic Counsellor and Director of the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund, on Friday, June 28, 2002. The Bank hosted the discussion, which was open to Bank and Fund staff, to help foster an exchange of ideas on important development issues. World Bank Chief Economist Nicholas Stern made opening remarks and World Bank Publisher Dirk Koehler chaired the discussion. The audience put questions to the speakers. holy crap. This is dense stuff. I see the value of Noam Chomsky who makes mundane stuff like this interesting.

Rogoff is an internationally acknowledged snake-oil salesman - ref the infamous Reinhart and Rogoff paper promoting IMF austerity ideology.
What Rogoff demonstrates clearly here is that he is not only a snake-oil salesman....but he is also a snake. His presentation is an extended ad hominem attack on Stiglitz.
Shameful.
