(Sacramento) -- Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside), Chair of the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy, hosted a hearing in San Diego to discuss the global economy, California's place in it and how the state's goods movement system supports global competitiveness. International trade and foreign investment serve as critical components of California's $2 trillion dollar economy and the Inland Empire, with its manufacturing base and warehouses, is a critical link to the global network of goods movement. The challenge California faces is that the goods movement infrastructure hasn't kept pace with growth.
