"¡Moviendonos como hormigas, pero no recogiendo migajas!" La Rana es el nuevo sencillo del segundo álbum de Systema Solar, próximo a ver la luz. Dirigido por la VJ del colectivo, Pata de Perro (Vanessa Gocksch), inspirado en la caótica situación que vive el Caribe colombiano con relación al manejo de la basura, este retrata a los miembros del grupo como unos recicladores que rebuscan tesoros ocultos entre los desechos que ahogan la ciudad. Fue rodado entre Barranquilla y Santa Marta en el marco del taller de sensibilización Mi barrio sin basura, dictado por la fundación del Systema, Intermundos, en la comunidad El Oasis de La Samaria, tremendamente afectada por el tema de los residuos. "Los recicladores tienen una misión que nadie más quiere asumir", dice Pata de Perro. "Una misión muy digna. Mientras los demás nos dedicamos a consumir y a generar basura sin medición, acabando con la naturaleza un poco más cada día, estas personas son las únicas que amortiguan esta situación aterradora. Para esta grabación hicimos una escena en un basurero donde conocimos a varios de estos recuperadores ambientales quienes nos hablaron de su vida y su trabajo. Ojalá pudiéramos reivindicar a estas personas, volverlas heroínas y héroes". Mucho más que una canción, La Rana es un pretexto para activar una campaña informativa pro-reciclaje a través de las redes sociales. En los días posteriores al lanzamiento, los seguidores del Systema podrán compartir contenidos relacionados con el tema a través de la etiqueta #reciclandoconlarana. Sin duda uno de los discos más esperados por la escena global en los últimos años, el segundo trabajo discográfico del colectivo insignia del movimiento de las nuevas músicas colombianas será lanzado en el tercer trimestre de 2013. Directed by the VJ of the collective, Pata de Perro (Vanessa Gocksch), inspired by the chaotic situation that the Caribbean Coast lives in relation with waste disposal, it pictures the members of Systema as a crew of streetwalking "recicladores" (local and sometimes even prerrogative term to refer to "recyclators") that seek for magical treasures in the depths of the city's trash. Shot in between two of the most important cities of the Coast, Barranquilla and Santa Marta, epicenters of Colombia's psychedelic tropical culture, the video was conceived as part of a special project called Mi barrio sin basura: a local workshop given to the community of El Oasis in Santa Marta by Intermundos: Systema's pioneering foundation for community empowerement and knowledge exchange. Living next to a dump, this neighborhood is roughly affected by the situation of waste disposal. "Local 'recicladores' have embraced a mission that nobody else wants to assume", manifests Pata de Perro. "An honorable and worthy mission. While we indulge in endless consuming and disposing without medition, threatening the planet more and more every day, these people are the only ones that are adressing the problem of waste disposal seriously. For the video, we did a scene in the local dump site where we met some of them. They told us about their work, there lives. It was very inspiring. We need to change how society looks at these people. We need to look at them as heroes." More than a song, La Rana is really an opportunity to activate a social media focused pro-recycling campaign. In the days following the release, fans of Systema Solar can share related content on the subject by using the hashtag #reciclandoconlarana. One of the most eagerly awaited releases by the global scene in recent years, the second album of the heroes of the nu-Colombian sound will be released on the third trimester of 2013.
