The local Las Vegas economy is finishing the year 2015 with an unemployment rate right around 6.8% This is exactly where the local Las Vegas economy was a year ago. This is however better than where we started the year off. Back in January the local economic market showed we were above 7% unemployment, and were there for several more months. Even with the unemployment numbers in Las Vegas, and Nevada overall, being relatively stagnant, there is reason to be optimistic for the Las Vegas economic outlook. The state of Nevada did add almost 21,000 jobs within the last few months. Also, there are several major projects that will be completed in 2016 and others that will be completed within the next couple years. In 2016 we will see The MGM arena completed in the spring, the Eclipse moview theater will be completed in downtown Las Vegas in spring also, and Henderson's new hospital will be done in the fall. After 2016 the Alon Hotel and the World Resorts Genting Group will still be building their mega resort properties at the north end of the strip. All of these projects should help reduce unemployment and provide the local Las Vegas economy with thousands of jobs over the next few years. Damn look at that view in the back
-
I heard black unemployment is better in Nevada than in California. Is that true?
-
Gorgeous background! You know a lot about the area & with your exposure on your channel, you could also do real estate :) A FB friend is there doing well with it.
-
Thank you Jacob for the information and updates and thanks for keeping your videos nice and clean to watch. Keep making more!

You need to state the "employment participation rates" when taking about the Unemployment rate. By itself the unemployment rate is utterly meaningless as it is heavily manipulated by the government, in fact nearly all governments world wide manipulate it. As a percentage of the population that actually have employment, the US is currently at a near 40 year low for people actually working. The share market and GDP are poor indicators of the true health of the economy due to wealth distribution.

Hmmm. Employment is definitely a major factor in my consideration of moving to Las Vegas. Thank you for the information!

I think the employment varies wherever you go. Every state and city is different in size and population. I believe it still remains the same situation with too many people and not enough jobs. I thank Lyft and Uber for what they've done and many other companies.
Hey, just a few months ago you were in a market of buying a new car and you had videos on it. You never mentioned what kind of car you got and if you were you satisfied of the price the dealer gave you. How did that go and do you like your new car vs your old Accord? Lol -
Hell yeah dude! Life is all about promoting the positives!
-
Another excellent video from you

I'm an auto mechanic with 10 years of experiences. What are the odds are landing a job in Vegas as a mechanic or possibly manufacturing which i have about 2 years of experiences?
-
Do you know the name of the hospital they are building?
-
The problem is in Vegas it's mostly a service economy...those new developments like movie theaters won't have jobs that pay much. I just moved here and there are so much less professional/career type jobs for people.
-
Great video, thanks man. I appreciate all the help! :)

IKEA is coming as well !

Definitely going in the right direction. I don't know what the numbers are but traffic has certainly picked up - people are going to work. The spending economy is certainly booming - lots of cars with new tags on the road in the last couple of years. Luxury cars at that. You mentioned how bad it got - right on. The big joke in the nation was last one leaving Vegas, turn the lights off.... I remember driving down Sahara and Flamingo with NO traffic on a Friday/Saturday night. People were staying home cause they didn't have money to spend. Now, I'm glad people are back in the swing of things but man, this traffic with construction sucks bad:)

The Hyperloop and Ferriday manufacturing is coming to North :as Vegas!
