Living In A Global City
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
2008 marked the first year in history that the total human populations in cities exceeded that of the populations outside them. This documentary explores globalization today in one of the nation's largest and most Globalized cities- Chicago. Chicago is a mosaic of cultural diversity, reinforced by leading universities, institutions and investment. It's spearheading new green initiatives and fostering relations with sister cities all around the world. Yet there are still many issues needing solutions, from Urban Sprawl to Immigration, one thing is for certain- the world is becoming smaller. I am currently working on making this a feature length documentary in Fall 2009.

That woman was WAY too focused on the environment. There are dozens of considerations about globalization, and the environment is only one of them.

An interesting introduction. There are some good people shots, and a couple of interesting interviews. I'd like to see more of an in-depth questions about the problematic effects of globalisation, and what Chicago authorities are doing to combat those effects. In addition, the camera work is a little bit wobbly at times (see the shot of the Chicago 'clean air' bus). Promising work.
