I'm delighted to see that Philippines' progress is so fast. Interms of services industry & BPO it's now improving as compared in the past. Having a great human resources is the key to our success. But I hope that the govt will also provide development assistance to our farmers as I have high hopes that the agriculture would not only be the source of growth for our country but would also exceed the demand of other country esp the export industry. Aside from this, the thriving manufacturing industry will also give employment to many. May the private sector also support the small & medium scale businesses/entrepreneurs. New literacy programs, political reforms and good governance are some of the positive strenghts that i look forward among others. However, in order to have a well connected & collaborated business between the urban & rural areas where the industrial parks and agri-business & fisheries are, the infrastructure should be modernized by our govt. in cooperation with regional heads,LGU's & agencies and of course with the help of brilliant architects, engrs and many more. These things are essential part of our progress in the global market.

Fighting corruption is just a perception of people outside the Philippines because of the paid advertisements and series of spots about the Philippines in some major international news channel like CNN, Bloomberg or BBC. In real life inside the Philippines aside from the Gloria Arroyo who is now in hospital arrest and some Senators who are under investigation by the Senate, there was no actual improvement in the corruption problem in the country. The PNP, the BIR, the Local Government Units all over the country, DPWH, even DepEd and other government agencies are mostly corrupt. The ease of doing business is still a mess. Good thing though is the "perception" that the Aquino government trying to project is gaining success by getting good ratings of the economy. The bad part is that, the ordinary citizen of the country wouldn't benefit from that.

Sadly, most people don't understand that a trillion dollar economy with 100 million people sharing it would lead to a measly 10,000 GDP per capita. That will still leave this country well below the world poverty line.

I am not a GMA fanatic nor I do not deny/support the allegations against her but it was in the last months of her term that our economy started to rise, the BPO industry is one her economic legacy and probably one of the main fuel of our growing economy right now. Before GMA left, the economy already started rising. The good thing about PNoy is that he took the advice of his college professor and his predecessor GMA to continue what she started. Such a shame he's taking the credits, proclaiming that his administration is the reason of our economic growth when all he did was just follow the plan of his predecessor and perhaps made some improvements (nagbubuhat ng sariling bangko).

Dream come true. I look forward to this. This isn't impossible. The richest in the Philippines wiil be able to cover the cost of the development and $1 trillion economy by 2030. Mabuhay Pilipinas.

Possibly .....but only if the next President allows the continued growth of the Philippines as a regional center for drug production and distribution by mainland Chinese gangs.
