A talk by Dr. Michael McMahon on 'The Who and How of Monetary Policy' at the Warwick Economics Summit. Dr. Michael McMahon is a macroeconomist at the University of Warwick, although he has previously taught at the Universities of New York and Chicago, as well as the London School of Economics. In his distinguished career he has also worked for the Bank of England, the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of Ireland, and has proven a polished media performer. Michael's research interests include the macroeconomics of business cycles, monetary economics, inventories and applied econometrics, and in 2011 he gave a TED talk on the challenges of both learning and teaching at university. He was formerly an advisory board member to the UK Higher Education Academy's Economics Network, which aims to promote the effective teaching of economics in universities; and his forthcoming work includes a paper on tax changes and the measurement of technology shocks.
