Millennials Don't Exist! Adam Conover at Deep Shift
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
A millennial marketing conference asked me to give a talk on how to market to millennials. The thesis of the talk I gave: Millennials don't exist and the entire idea of "generations" is unscientific, condescending, and stupid. For more misconception destruction, check out my show ADAM RUINS EVERYTHING on TruTV! New episodes coming in August!

So...humans will act like humans? How utterly unexpected.

65000 NSA agents disliked "adam ruins facebook"

Thank you, Adam!

Most people that criticize Millennials are ignorantly referring to just Western (American or European) Millennials.

The guy at the beginning sounded so serious and sad... 😂

Why does he look high?

Pretty sure this soft boy just hates being called a millennial. They do exist and they are different. I am from the so called "Gen X" generation and I have a millennial sibling and know a lot of millennials and have also worked with them. In general they are exactly as the described. Lazy, self entitled etc. etc. etc.

you can discribe this presentation with two words: mhh, ahh
-
Nailed it again! :)

"the generation that nominated trump should be gassed" Yeah, because calling Trump supporters Nazis is really going to convince them to vote differently. People who consider themselves on the left are just as bad as though that consider themselves alt-right.

Can't believe I just watched this...total waste of time.

Anyone have an actual citation for the Hesiod cite?
It is NOT in Works and Days, the only poem he wrote about economics. It doesn't come up in google, except AFTER adam posted this, so loads of people are basically repeating his claims..... anyone able to DEMONSTRATE his claimed citation? -
if you're complaining about all of the "ums" and "uhs", then you were probably not genuinely interested in the content of this presentation. I didn't even notice the pauses lmao

Society is constantly evolving, newer technologies and perceptions give us shortcuts to achieve things that the older generations had to work harder for. In my opinion that's one of the many facts that makes the older peoples look down on the newer ones

Informative. But where he tries to clear the millennial group from broad statements, he then blames those of age. What he blames others of doing.....he does himself.

About back in the day when TV went off the air at midnight. People didn't have it at the kitchen table, the restaurant, the social gathering, the bathroom, the boardroom....you get the point. The phone and social media has changed how we interact. It's not just millennial who are hooked with this technology. Many of us who do get sucked in can at least see the difference. People under 25 have difficulty with this as they were born into it.

my only problem with is analysis is that his whole platform is "millennial's don't exist" but then will say shit like "millennials are high achieving" as he states there are 10 mil on the forbes list and that chest masters have doubled
