Based on a pioneering scientific study on Millennial Leadership worldwide the 'MillennialMotion: The Next Generation of Leadership' launch has been organized by The Millennial Research Team in collaboration with Synergized Earth Network (SEN), Centre for Innovation, HagueTalks, OYWTheHague and in support of ImpactCity - The Hague Innovators (ImpactEconomy, City of The Hague - Municipality​). This launch brought together an intergenerational world community of youth leaders, change agents, (future) decision-makers, innovators, (social) entrepreneurs, intrapraneurs, educators, scientists, stakeholders, Elders and mutual mentors on the 14th of April 2016 at the Centre for Innovation in The Hague (the international city of peace & justice). This is platform for Millennial Leadership worldwide to address the importance of the role of Millennial leaders in global change processes and generate possible solutions across various impact areas. In this way, it builds an evidence-based bridge between theory and practise and the nexus between science and society. Tariq Al-Olaimy is from Bahrain, a Millennial leader, (social) entrepreneur and biomimicry specialist who represented impact area: Business. In his talk Tariq touched upon the purpose of Millennial Motion: The Next Generation of Leadership by shedding light on the shift of the 'optimizing talent strategy' perspective to investing in the next generation of leaders and the importance of intergenerational collaboration. Tariq Al-Olaimy is a co-founder of 3BL Associates, which is a people + planet strategy consultancy and think-do-tank that was established to re-imagine a more sustainable and regenerative Middle East. Tariq has a wide range of experiences in (social)businesses and is among the first 100 people in the world certified in Biomimicry, which is a field that applies nature’s wisdom to solving some of the greatest human challenges. As a sustainability and youth education policy advocate, he has worked with UN organizations such as UNESCO, UNFCCC, UNDP, and UNEP towards the Post-2015 Development Agenda. He is the founding National Coordinator of the Arab Youth Climate Movement (AYCM) and member of several leadership networks and initiatives; a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum; a One Young World Ambassador; a TEDxBahrainona curator; and an alumnus of global leadership organizations such as AIESEC, Common Purpose, US IVLP and Singularity University.
