Modi-fied India - the new superpower? | Quadriga
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been drumming up trade in Germany and many analysts are predicting the second most populous country in the world could be the next superpower. But does India really have what it takes to catch up with China or even overtake it? The population and the economy are already growing faster than its big Asian competitor. But for the time being at least India remains a country of deep disparities. Tell us what you think: quadriga@dw.de Guests: Thomas Matussek - a lawyer by training, he is a former German ambassador to the UK, the UN and most recently to India and is currently the Managing Director of its international forum, the Alfred Herrhausen Society. Democracy will die once Muslims becomes majority in India and it's evident in our neighbouring nation Pakistan where Hindus are butchered and slaughtered just becoz of their religion. Secularism prevails in India just becoz of the Hinduism
-
Mr Ramesh Sycophant represents an era of Foreign-funded 'sickular'and leftist era of Indian Journalism till this date. All these years 'Dhongress' and almost all other parties gave patronage to these English-speaking bootlickers of so called Secularism. India is so much infested by these hypocrites.

German knows Indians the best since the days of Max Muller.

I have so many differences with Mr. Ramesh there.. He seems to be talking nothing about the asked question... I seem to be more in line with what Mr. Christian thinks...
-
those two panelist had far more knowledge about india
than that stupid bald guy from our country.... -
Mr Ramesh needs to stay on point a little more and he's not being exactly objective, as a journalist since 50 years should be. I would say Mr Thomas Matussek was the sensible one here. His answers were on point without any emotional or sentimental bullshit and it even felt that he knew much more about India than the Indian sitting in that room, Mr Ramesh.

Ha HA ...Where the hell Church was attacked? Later media felled on face when it was discovered that it was a robbery (Theft) in Church in Delhi which had nothing to do with religion and no one was harmed.

Remove India from list. I am still waiting for the powercuts to end and
for potholes in road to be fixed. Voting once in 5 (phive) years for
corrupt officials is demon-crazy. Also woman cant walk street without
getting raped by Hindu males. Hindu males are superpower in raping
woman and ragging students. Also there is pan/betelnut spit stains all
over the road. That needs cleaning first. Dog and cow walk street,
defecating and urinating. That needs sorted. Lot of things to do. Stop
dreaming Apu, get to work. Make streets clean as Singapore. End all
corruption. End court cases that take 25 years to solve. End daily rapes
and eve-teasing. End caste violence.

yes....! long term. we will have to bear with this . It is of course an ancient unique Indian style.
-
The indian guy is incoherent and quite frankly embarrassing himself....whats Indira Gandhi and emergency got to do with Indo - german relations!!! He represent's the old and tired India of the begging socialist era... Talk more and do less . the German commentators on the other hand were direct and short .
-
India is the unique country where many leaders give up their marriage & personal life just 4 the sake of their beloved nation like modi. They have no personal interest that is why they have very appealing attitude .& people beleive their words.
-
Mr. Ramesh needs to be a little less emotional and a little more objective. His answers sometimes stray from point and verge on sentimental and protective instead of logical.
