Heart and Character No weakling could possibly have the heart to transform the country's murder capital into the safest city. Plus, his character is distinctly firm and uncompromising. 2. Actual evidence of competence Davao city is a city-ful of evidence of competence, flaunting undeniable incomparable achievements, like being the world's 4th safest city, the 3rd place on earth to have 911, etc. 3. People's movement Whether brilliant social manipulation or sheer despair, this is the first in my adult life I've seen such people power. Update: Rody finally declared he's running for president in 2016. 4. beefing up: education and discipline My personal bet on the two key qualities that a nation needs to invest in, in order to make way for further progress. Without education we'll still lag behind everyone else, without discipline our society will drift into massive unrest (our socio-economic segmentation data indicates we're bordering revolution) 5. lack of better candidate Rody isn't the perfect man for a president, but to me so far, he surpasses everyone (except Miriam?) in the 4 key areas that I mentioned: Heart and character, Record of competence, Support from the Filipino Community, and Platform.
