By Dr Thorsten Meyer, German National Library of Economics At: Global Conference on Emerging Trends in Business Librarianship http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/library/conference About: Thorsten Meyer is the deputy director of the Leibniz-Information Centre of Economics (ZBW) in Kiel and Hamburg. He is responsible for human resources management and the library, hosting the largest collection of publications in economics and business studies worldwide. Currently, he is interested in digital strategies for libraries and related requirements for staff development to be able to adapt to the digital world. Libraries are influenced by the paradigm shift to "bringing the content to the user", which development is supported as well as restricted by technical innovations. Thorsten Meyer is active in several national and international boards and committees, such as the Priority Initiative "Digital Information" of the Alliance of Science Organisations in Germany or as a reviewer for the German Research Foundation. From 2011-2014, he was president of the European Business School Librarians' Group (EBSLG). Thorsten Meyer is author of several articles about change management, social media in libraries or licencing. Thorsten Meyer holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Sciences from Humboldt University in Berlin as well as a Diploma in economics (Bamberg University) and a Bachelor in Business Studies (Lund University).
